Williamsville Optical

This place was recommended to me by a friend. I had new frames and experimented with removing my lens from the original frame. I had a hard time putting it back, and so I needed expert help. I do not have visual insurance as I am new to the country, and I insisted to pay but Liz was so kind enough not to make me and hence I am leaving this review instead. Liz was able to snap the lens back in the frame with the help of heat, and I really figured there was no way I was putting that lens back on my.own! I struggled 3 hours with it, but Liz did it in 10 minutes! I am really thankful for her and this wonderful optical clinic! I have attached photos below, so be sure to check their clinic out. You will have wide selection of frames to choose from, and I am definitely sure they will have something that would fit your style and suit your needs.

Today I call Williamsville Optical if they are taking my insurance and if I could make my glasses there. Elizabeth answered the phone and she was so very nice and helpful, she said, she could see me today if I would like to come. I was so happy, went there and she saw me right away, no waiting, best place ever to go for your eyes appointments

My prescription has been wrong for a while and my old place never got it right, but Ashley got it right the first time!! Prescription is perfect, and they have super cute frame selections! Liz is super helpful with picking out and sizing the glasses, and always gives mine a tweak whenever I need! Great place!!

My glasses prescription has changed dramatically in less than a year. The current glasses prohibit me from driving at night. I am scheduled for cataract surgery in two months. I was desperate to be able to see for the next two months. Elizabeth got a new prescription for me in less than 8 days. When I put on the new glasses I was blown away. I am better than 20/20. She is caring , helpful and very knowledgeable. I would recommend to anyone.

Great place if you are looking for an average pair of glasses similar to lenscrafters quality. Quoted around $300 for a pair of glasses, very reasonable. Service is decent here as well.

Incorrect prescription and overpriced glasses. It has been two years but today I am still angry about the service and glasses we got at Williamsville Optical. The eye doctor made incorrect prescription for both me and my wife - unfortunately we only noticed this a bit later because we have to leave Buffalo in a week after. We also pay overpriced glasses, and the one for my wife was never used because of the incorrect prescription. We were poor students at that time, so I felt so frustrated about the incorrect prescription and overpriced glasses - a terrible experience I remember every time when I make new glasses (from other places of course).

Williamsville Optical has been our go to optician for many years. The selections are great and Liz is always on top of what styles work for your face. Additionally, professional attitude with personal service is very helpful in making sure all the details are covered.

I came across this small gem of an optician shop a number of years ago when my union had an eyeglass benefit which was fulfilled by Williamsville Optical. I was in my late forties at the time and like most people at that age, I was starting to need bifocals because my natural lenses could only focus at one distance. I had tried getting progressive lenses at several of the major optical retail chains, but the result was always the same: expensive lenses, blurry vision and excuses from incompetent opticians. Every time I moved my head from left to right, it was like looking through a fish bowl. When I went to Dr. Jans, however, at Williamsville Optical, he told me that my prescription was correct, but that my lenses hadn't been fitted right. The optical centers of the lenses didn't line up exactly with my pupils and more importantly, the vertical positioning of the lenses was incorrect. I remember him saying something like, "If progressive lenses are fitted right, you shouldn't be aware that you are wearing progressives." Sure enough, when his daughter Liz fitted me with new lenses, the fishbowl effect disappeared, and I could see clearly at all distances. Dr. Jans has since passed away and his two daughters have taken over the business. Now that I'm in my late 60's and my prescription is starting to change again, I'm grateful to know that Liz is there to take the time to properly measure and fit my new lenses.
