This the best optometrist office I have ever been to. The office staff are lovely and Dr. Pate is excellent at what he does. The office staff seem like they actually like working there which you don't always see in healthcare. Dr. Pate is the first optometrist to correctly identify the problem with my vision and provide and prescription that actually helps. I highly recommend this team!

Everyone in the office does their best to make you feel welcome. The entire team has a great chemistry. Ms. Linda went to great lengths to make sure I was satisfied with my new glasses. Dr. Pate examined my vision with detail and care, and took the time to answer all of my questions. HIGHLY recommend!

I purchased an eye exam and contacts some time ago. Pate, the optometrist, wanted to charge me extra to do a thorough analysis of my eyes. This has never happened to me before with eye exams. It was the first red flag. The optometrist, Pate, encouraged me to purchase contacts with a $200 rebate. After the purchase, I realized I'd been lied to about the rebate and was only getting $100. I never received the full refund Pate offered. While I was purchasing glasses, the optometrist's fitting assistant implied I was trying to steal a frame as I tried on different pairs. They were right under her nose the whole time. The eyewear proved defective. Good thing the original eyewear has a company warranty; it said I should contact the optometrist to arrange a warranty replacement. For some reason, the optometrist's assistant denied the fact that I had a warranty for the glasses. But said they would replace the glasses. They offered to ship the glasses to me. They lied about this, too, and I had to come in to pick up the glasses. At pickup, the optometrist might have made a slick comment about my age. I couldn't be sure, but his demeanor was unfriendly, and he ignored me when I arrived. He implied that I had deliberately damaged the glasses because he'd never seen that brand come defective. I was avoiding conflict because I wanted to get my glasses and go; I had seen enough red flags at this office, and I am short on time. Before leaving, I realized they had taken my glasses case without returning it. Even though I was receiving a warranty replacement for the glasses, they kept the replacement glasses case and gave me back my old one. Keep in mind that this pair of glasses is considered luxury eyewear. So they lied, failed to fulfill their promises, and kept the replacement eyewear case I was supposed to receive as a client after being accused of lying about the warranty replacement. Please avoid this optometrist. I regret ever coming here. Hopefully, this review helps someone avoid trouble and unnecessary negativity. PS> The last straw that led to this review was that I tried on the glasses at home, and the lens fell out of the frame. So I had to put the lenses back together myself, after being lied to and accused. But maybe, Pate has never seen that happen with the type of glasses I purchased.

Awesome experience as always. Dr Pate is thorough in his examination of your eyes and is always courteous patient and kind. The person who helps you select your glasses is a pro and awesome and knowledgeable in what she does. If I could rate Dr Pates crew a 10 I would. The receptionist makes you feel glad that you chose his office.

Switched from another local Optometrist a while back and have had very good experiences with Dr Pate and his team at Durham Vision by me and my family. I highly recommend him and his team if you are looking to switch or are new to the area.

No long waiting times in lobby. Friendly and responsive staff and Dr. Pate is so efficient and willing to answer your questions. Highly recommend.
