First Choice Eye Care

I didn't mind that they didn't disclose the cost of the exam being 120 included The more thorough retinal scanning until after I had paid and we were in the preliminary testing. We don't currently have insurance for kids and average exam cost seemed to be 99 elsewhere. This is technically my daughter's first exam and I did want it to be thorough but they could have at least given me the option at the time of setting up the appointment. So we ended up doing retinal scans that people with insurance would normally have to pay out of pocket for and we did dilation-dilation normally being covered under insurance. I liked the doctor she had great bedside manner and was patient with my daughter and I also like the person who did the preliminary testing. When it came to the sales associate on the floor I can't describe how disappointed I was. She was very condescending, pushy and not willing to disclose the full package or breakdown costs. I felt like every question I asked was just met with a rude response. It felt like all I needed to know was 205 was the total and that was it. No stand ar, no poly options because they are not included in the kids package deals. It took some push but after us going back and forth I now know that a 200 frame, bifocal lenses with premium AR and 1 year warranty(which I didn't bother to ask what it covered because at this point I was sick of her tone) would cost me 205 out of pocket. The price isn't bad considering I'm someone who wears glasses and has worked 8 years in optical. It would take 2 weeks to turn around, again most places that's standard. I mentioned trying LensCrafters because they have one hour service(on occasion for bifocals as well) but she quickly snapped at my conversation with my mom and said they wouldn't. I didn't want to argue with my kids there but I did mention to a tech how rude the associate was when being taken back in for the dilation check. It was a matter of how she disclosed it and how I had to get the information that was very off-putting. The doctor and tech were great but I was a little off put how everything seemed to be bundled together to get add ins in without disclosing. Just a one price pay and go. I do have to go back in 6 months for my daughters follow up and I have told my daughter if I can't get her glasses somewhere quicker I will take her back and wait the 2 weeks for her glasses because she like the frame. I will be sure we don't work with that associate again but it was a disappointing first experience for my daughter. Not including that the total exam took 2 hrs after the whole thing we were all a little over it.

Only negative thing is the waiting is way too long. The Dr. is good and Destiny was amazing with my Dad. Knows her stuff!

We had an appointment yesterday for the first time with Dr. Swenson. The appointment went so well. MacKenzie, Jessica and Dr. Swenson were beyond amazing. My son was able to get through his fear of eye drops. Jessica had a treasure chest ready for my son to pick out a small toy and they were all just so amazing with my son. I appreciate this team and I am so happy to be established with this Practice :)

Dr. Swenson is wonderful. I went to a different doctor before coming to FCEC and she screwed up my prescription. Dr. Swenson worked with me for 2 months to get back to where I needed to be. She was very nice every time I saw her or spoke to her on the phone. The office is elegant and the staff is professional and polite. If you are looking for an optometrist I recommend FCEC and Dr. Swenson highly.

Amber and the other tech in the contacts department were rude and racist. My vision insurance has not changed in years. My husband was forced to pay full price for my contact lenses because they could not find my name in the system.... the same name that was used the year before. No apology was made, only excuses and attitude. I will gladly take my family of 5 to a business that is mindful of cost and respects its consumers.

This place overcharge if insurence denies the claim for diabetic patients, even patient tells the front office that Anthem Blue cross doesn't cover for Diabetic care, and they are not honest in billing to patient. This is a Rip of place for the eye care, in future I will not refer any one.

Everyone was nice there but was fitted with the wrong prescription and was pressured to buy a six month supply of contacts in the wrong prescription. They wouldn't take them back of course (And those contacts weren't cheap). Went back to get refitted for a new prescription but they simply could not get it right. No matter what they tried, I could not see good. Ended up going back to my old eye doctor who fitted me perfectly on the first attempt. It sucks I have to self pay, but I'll rather go see someone who knows what they're doing.

I have a hard time finding frames to fit my face. I tried different optical providers but had no luck. I thought I would give First Choice Eye Care a try. I met Jennifer who works in Optical. She was so helpful! Jennifer went above and beyond to help me find frames to fit my face. Also, Mike who works in optical was very accomodating. I will definitely will return to First Choice Eye Care for frames in the future!
