I had an eye exam yesterday and was very pleased with the doctor and the wait time was very short. I was seen very quickly. The doctor was good and very helpful. This was the first time I had an exam at Visionworks, but have purchased many times at this location and have always been pleased with the quality and precision of my prescription being correct for my vision.
I like the variety of frames they offer. I also like that they will use your frames, that no other place will do as far as I could find. With the excellent sales they offer, I did find that it was less expensive to get new frames than to use my old ones. Thank you Visionworks for meeting my expectations for my exam and glasses. I can't wait to pick up my new glasses!!
I went to Visionworks for an eye exam and to get new glasses. During my exam, I was told that the glasses I ordered would work for driving, watching TV, reading, and computer work. Based on that explanation, I moved forward with the purchase.
When I picked up my glasses, I immediately noticed I could not use them for driving or watching TV--everything at a distance was blurry. I called and was told to walk in so they could double-check the prescription. After checking, they said the prescription was "fine," but then told me the glasses were only meant for reading.
This was extremely frustrating, especially because I paid extra for the no-glare coating specifically for driving purposes. When I asked why I was told they would work for driving and TV if they were only reading glasses, I didn't get a clear answer. Instead, I was told I could request another pair of glasses for driving and another for reading, which means spending even more money.
I feel misled and disappointed. What was promised does not match what was delivered. Clear communication matters--especially when people are trusting you with their vision.

The lady at the front was very rude, non chalant and dismissive. As I was trying to verify my insurance she told me to pay upfront or leave. She was super pleasant to the customers behind me although I was very respectful and kind. Her bad attitude and unprofessionalism makes the company look bad.
Never been to such an unprofessional place. Took over an hour to seen for my appointment , was called ten minutes before that it was a virtual appointment. Was told it would take two weeks to get my trial lenses. Waited the two weeks and called them. They claim it because they are backed up but I know it's because they didn't order them. Now I have to wait an additional month for them to and that's just to confirm my prescription for them. Will not be going to this place again and will go to a not chain place for my future vision care.
I would 100% recommend Visinworks here in Matthews. I actually went there for a second opinion (well basically a third opinion) because I had gotten an eye exam somewhere else and twice they got it wrong. The doctor took very good care of me. She actually listened to what I was trying to explain, and she made sure that I had what I needed.. She even went above and beyond by showing me the bad prescription that I had received from the other place versus the prescription that I would be receiving, and I felt completely at ease and satisfied that this time it was going to be correct. The entire staff from beginning to end was so remarkable their customer service.
I'm extremely fed up with this vision works and will not be returning after my glasses are done. They are nearly impossible to get on the phone, half my experience has been with someone new or clearly illequipped to be answering questions on the phone. The normal process to schedule an appointment was 3x as long as it usually takes, all for them to have scheduled me at a time I didn't agree to, which caused me to take last minute PTO. I was there a few weeks ago and had a full eye exam completed, went through the process of setting up my glasses order and only cancelled it right before finalizing because I realized I'd need my sunglasses for a trip I had coming up. I was told I could just drop my glasses off when I was ready, that everything was set up. Now I call today to confirm that so my partner can drop my glasses off since I work most of their business hours and they dont have a measurement they need from my pupils to do it so I need to come back in person. After being told when I was there in person that they had all the information they needed and I could just drop off at a later date! I could go into further details about my recent experiences, but generally speaking the staff is unprofessional, rude, lack basic knowledge and clearly forgetful and willing to be a huge inconvenience. They scheduled me for times I didn't agree to, forced me to make last minute changes to my personal and work life to fix their mess ups. I cannot believe how downhill this one location has gotten in just a few short years. Pick literally any other location.
EDIT: I called another location and guess what? My measurements aren't needed because (as I explained to Matthews location) they have them from the last pair of sunglasses....the same sunglasses frame im trying to drop off. Not surprised, your staff needs to be entirely restrained and that is evident by all of these bad reviews yall delete.
They must delete the bad views because this is BY FAR the worst vision store I have ever been too. The women working inside are very nice, however, not a SINGLE one of them knew the answer to anything. I have needed vision care for 15 years and I am manager in customer service and if my team operated like this I would be so disappointed in myself. I spoke over the phone multiple times explaining what I needed and once in person and STILL the contacts I needed were NOT RIGHT. I spoke with the "manager" and she told me 3 different prices for the same product/quantity. They also didn't listen and shipped my contacts to the wrong location. They ALSO took forever! I have never spent so much time with a vision store in my entire life combined. Save your sanity and go someplace else. This was disgusting.
Very professionals very knowledgeable workers very helpful in selecting glasses. I was truly impressed by the exam the Doctor Who was truly a very professional told me what was wrong with my eyes what she was doing kept me completely involved with it. I would highly recommend it!
