I am a person who gets extremely anxious for days before any kind of a medical procedure. It was completely a waste of my mental energy! They have a very organized smooth surgical team. One person takes your vitals, another does the IV prep. The anesthesiologist comes in and talks with you, your doctor comes in and uses a marker to remind everyone which eye they are going to work on. You go into the surgical theater and after getting me comfortable in the chair with my bad cervical spine issue, they connected O@ into my nostrils and connect sensors for vitals. They started the IV sedative which relaxed me. They applied the numbing and dilation eyedrops. Then they moved the microscope into position over the eye. I was instructed to just keep looking at the three white lights. After a minute, hose three lights changed to two lights. When I asked them which of the two I should be looking at, they said "All done!" Must have been less than five minutes to do the actual surgery. No sweat at all! I will not be at all nervous for my next eye.
One of the worst experiences at an eye dr ever. I was running behind and called to make sure I could still be seen. I made it within the window of time and the receptionist said she had to ask the dr. 10 minutes later the dr said she couldn't see me. So I rescheduled and asked to go ahead and do the paperwork to save time at the next appointment and noticed a sheet about if a patient needs a routine or medical exam. I had some of the things listed under the medical and asked if I needed to make 2 appointments and what was included in the routine. Receptionist didn't know and got a tech to come talk with me. She said that I would definitely need a medical exam and would still get a new prescription. BUT with a medical exam they obviously bill the medical insurance and you pay the specialist copay AND have to pay a $45 fee to the office just for having a medical exam. Plus you can't use your free routine eye exam under your vision. She was pretty rude and impatient while I was trying to understand why you couldn't use your vision and why they would charge a random $45 fee on top of your copay for no reason. When I asked why she just said this is how their company does things. Needless to say I will be driving an hour back to my hometown to see my regular eye dr who doesn't operate shady business practices and takes care of my vision needs in one exam.

I'm sure I'm probably the only one with this experience, but just in case it helps someone in the future. There is NO return policy whatsoever at this facility.
Meaning if you get glasses that do nothing but cause headaches, ones that aren't supposed to have prescription by the way... that there is no way to get your money back; even if you specially were told they were for protective wear ONLY.
If you are told by this place that you need protective lenses, then purchase them online for if you get them here then insurance won't cover unless there's a prescription in them which I was failed to be given that information before hand.
I'm not mad at the facility for me not doing research, just upset at the facility for not explaining the glasses purchases before hand and the doctor not telling me about the prescription.
I recommend you explain to all customers giving you money for lenses how there is no return policy in place, not even a restock fee. But hey, maybe it's just me.
I've been using Morganton eye for about nine years until the Valdese office was closed. Then I went to the Morganton location. So my two last pair of glasses from Morganton eye didn't even work for me to use. I paid extra money to have progressive lens this last time. I went as far as to bring in the font size that I need to be able to read with my glasses. That didn't matter.
The far away lens, I can't see the small print on my TV and the close-up lens I can't read the fine print on my prescription bottles from Drexel drugstore or any other small print that size. I went in there three times to let them know these glasses did not work for me and they had the nerve to tell me to wait and a five person line to reschedule an appointment to have my eyes rechecked. I was getting ready for surgery and they knew that and it didn't matter. They made me take home glasses that I told them they did not work out for me. The female eye doctor stated my eyes didn't change in over four years, which I don't believe.
I have way too many appointments to waste my time with you. So either they can fix the glasses without me going back in or I can find another optometrist who can actually do good work and care if I can see with my new glasses.
Been here 3xs over 3 yrs personal chart is never updated in 3 yrs. Multiple times gone over signed papers with correct information to come back and still have all the wrong info. Then tell them he cant see the tv and they say go get a pair of glasses at the pharmacy!? Why are we at the eye doctor?
I saw Dr. Ford for my eye exam (as a new patient of Morganton Eye) and he was nice, efficient, and knowledgeable. When I went back last week to pick out my glasses, Teri helped me and she was wonderful. Overall, it was a great experience.
Was very very disappointed. The eye exam if you can call it that was let keep everything the same & here you go to the pay desk . It was the worse experience at an eye doctor . I know the place was packed & they want let you schedule next year appointment because they don't have enough employees. This was just terrible to say the least . I want see this eye doctor Tatum again. It was rush get done . This is the least exam I have ever had in since 1974 when I first came as a child . This needs to change it worse every year now.
