My first visit was top notch, didn't know what to expect, however, I walk in to a very nice and welcoming office. The front desk receptionist who checked me in was very kind and professional. The young lady that works beside Dr. Sigmon was just so sweet and friendly!
As far as my exam with Dr. Sigmon went, I can honestly say he is a very respectful, gentle, thorough Dr. this was the first time in my 41 years that an optometrist took his time during the exam to make sure my prescription was correct, overall great bedside manner, smart, and explained everything to me, answered every question I had asked.
The check out receptionist, she was so personable, kind and friendly. I had already chosen my glasses, (I chose the ones the young lady that does the pre exam's glasses) lol so cute! Doc sent me home with a trial pair of contacts, and they are working great! Will be calling them soon to order my glasses, then back for my follow-up!
I would recommend Vision First Optometry to anyone!
Everyone that I seen on my initial visit were amazing people! Excellent customer service!

Welcome to our new location! Bethlehem Eye Care was originally opened in 1996 by Dr. Michael R. Sigmon and optician Gary A. McDonald. With growth over the years and the recent additions of Dr. Donald M. York and Dr. Elizabeth H. York, husband and wife optometrists, the need for expansion was evident. Sigmon is a Hickory native with more than 31 years of experience doing eye exams for all ages. Sigmon said that emphasizing a take-your-time, small-town, relaxing atmosphere philosophy has helped build a strong practice in his two area locations in Hickory and Bethlehem. In 2019, he found a like-minded optometric team to increase the availability of quality eye care in Alexander County.
