Dr Whitesell is amazing! She saw my 8 year old for an eye exam and vision test. She was patient, thorough and great with him! She explained everything beforehand to ease any anxiety. We were still in and out in 30 minutes. The ease of scheduling online is a plus for us as well. She came highly recommended by friends and did not disappoint! She will be our family provider going forward!

I recently had my second annual visit. Dr Whitesell is professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. I felt at complete ease during my exam. She answered all my questions as well as offering solutions. I highly recommend visiting her office for your needs.

While in town visiting for the holiday, on Christmas Eve morning, I lost a lens and needed a new Rx to replace my glasses. The first office I called had me leave a vm and they would get back to me, so glad, because it led me to Dr Whitesell's number. It was almost lunchtime, they said they would see me at noon. Rushed out the door arriving a few minutes late, was greeted warmly, presented the appropriate cards for insurance and signed my paperwork. The young woman at reception then took me back for my exam introducing herself as Dr Whitesell. Not only did she do a thorough exam, she obviously knows her practice well and can wear all the hats. Having many years experience in the medical field, that is seldom the case. The downside was my scan showed I now have glaucoma in one eye. She explained to me in terms I could understand the next steps. Being in the middle of relocating, I needed to find a new optometrist. I will be 1 1/2 hours away from Wilmington, but the drive will be worth it to come back to this office. I highly recommend anyone in need of an optometrist, make your appointment here.

Hands down the best eye exam I have ever had . Dr. Whitesell took her time with me and explained everything . She was so kind and personable. If you're looking for an optometrist run to Port City Optometry you will not be disappointed.

Dr. Whitesell is extremely knowledgeable and kind. I have been going to eye doctors my entire life and never had a doctor who took the time to explain eye health so thoroughly. I felt like I was in excellent hands and would recommend her to anyone!

If you're looking for an eye doctor, look no further! Dr. Whitesell is incredibly warm, kind, and professional. She always makes me (and my toddler son, who is sometimes in tow) very comfortable in her office. She explains everything she's doing during my appointment so I understand what's going on and I always learn a little something new about my eyes. The location in the Porters Neck Walmart is easily accessible and she provides contacts/glasses prescription without pressure to buy on the spot or from any specific place. Highly recommend!!!

Port City Optometry was such a great experience as I took my little boy who is 4 years old and so curious, Dr. Rasika Whitesell was so friendly , kind and patient as this was my sons first appointment.
