Hillmer Eye Clinic: Jed D. Hillmer, O.D.

I recently (12-8-2025) had my annual eye exam at Hillmer Eye Clinic at 101 N. 10th St. in Fargo. As usual, I was given very professional, friendly and helpful optometric service by Dr. Jed D. Hillmer and his staff of assistants. I received the same very satisfactory treatment given me in annual vision exams at this clinic since I became a Fargo resident 13 years ago. From my experience, I feel confident Dr. Hillmer knows how to make his patients feel welcome and well cared for, gladly taking the time to answer their questions about their vision concerns. At my most recent appointment, Dr. Hillmer carefully explained a cataract condition that is limiting my vision and provided me a reference for a consultation with an experienced eyecare surgical practice he is familiar with. I'm grateful to Dr. Hillmer and his staff for the fine care they give me!

Dr Hillmer and his staff were very willing to listen to my concerns and to answer any questions I had. Highly recommend. Dr. Hillmer is extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his examination of vision concerns following concussion. He takes the time to explain the "why" behind what he is doing and answers any/all questions. Overall great experience.

Dr. Hillmer's experience and knowledge of neuro-eye disease is second to none in Fargo and likely the entire state. He generously took the time to explain my problem and did the most thorough eye exam I've ever had in over 50 years. He is kind, caring, and down to Earth. It is rare to find a medical provider who is willing and able to spend the amount of time that Dr. Hillmer spent with me at our initial consultation. Highly recommended!!
