Eye Care Associates of Belpre

Very bad experience. I was a referral from the VA. Went there the 1st time they said they couldn't help me if I didn't have a hard copy of my paperwork from the VA. I told them I had a picture of the prescription they gave me. Said they couldn't accept it. So rescheduled for the next day. I went back the 2nd day. They said they needed a copy of the referral not the prescription. Not very friendly and really don't seem to care. I will drive to another location before I ever go there again.

I have been a patient at this office for several years now. I hadn't had a bad experience until today. I went in to get my glasses adjusted, when the worker brought them back to me, I noticed they seemed to be very smudged in the left lens to the point I couldn't see out of that lens but figured I could clean them once I got home. I tried cleaning and cleaning but nothing made the smudging go away. So I went back into the office, explained what was going on and asking if they could fix the issue. After a few minutes of waiting, the lady behind the checkout desk told me that my lenses were just "old"(only have had them for a little over 1.5 years). She said it's called lens crazing. I asked her why it happened when I got my glasses adjusted? She insisted that they were like that before my adjustment. I insisted back that there was NO WAY they were like that before and just want to know what happened and how to fix them. This lady became very rude, defensive, and told me she could maybe send them off to be fixed, but since they are so old they may not do it and it would be better to set up an eye appointment and get new ones. I told her I only had prescription sunglasses and I cannot go weeks without glasses. She seemed very inconvenienced, rude, and didn't care that I was going to be without vision for so long. This business lost a customer today. It turns out that if the heat is turned up too high, it can cause heat grazing to lenses....so instead of taking responsibility for their actions, they just tried to blame the customer and talk them into spending more money. This worker should be ashamed at their behavior!

6/2025 Had defective framed. Got new ones. Very pleasant employees. Just wish wld clean glasses when they fix them.

This place is the biggest joke for Optometry in the Mid Ohio Valley. It has gone from bad to worse. First, they ARE NOT veteran friendly. I stopped in today 7/11/22 and simply asked for previous prescription values/records to compare from a more recent exam through the VA. I was informed that they didn't have records on me or my prescriptions (I had been seen there since 2019) It was only after I told them it was for a $600 pair of Oakley glasses I had bought were they able to find my record and prescription values. She acted like it was such a HUGE deal to look something up on the computer that took her all but 3 minutes, after I had been waiting for 10 minutes waiting for the records from the original request. Short and simple: They act like you are bothering them or that you are the worst nuisance that they have had to deal with that day. VERY unfriendly and forget about asking questions!! You go in and have questions and after your first moments of the interaction with them, you get that feeling that they are going to talk about you after you leave, because you have interrupted their seemingly quiet workday. You abandon your questions, because they seriously do not want to hear them, let alone answer them. They literally make you feel like you have done something wrong and make you feel insignificant and small. They are extremely short and rude with you!! PLEASE.....go elsewhere! I promise you, you will get a better experience somewhere else!!!

My eye exam was done by the va and by contract this office is supposed to fill the prescription, I ordered my glasses and had to go back twice for adjustment , still couldn't see properly out of them. my va dr told me to order a new pair. I went back and was told I would have to wait to get an appointment, and that appointments for vets are only at certain times. Not va friendly, and poor performance as far as proper fitting and prescription. Over all a. Very bad experience,

Not even worth 1 star. Horrible customer service on the phone and then once they found out our insurance they conveniently had NO appointments at all in the future, whereas I started my call with the question " are you accepting new patients?" And her reply was "yes". If you're not going to treat people with respect regardless of their insurance status, just choose not to be a provider.

I get my glasses through the VA. I go to Eye Care Associates to pick out my frames and order my glasses. They are always extremely friendly and professional. I recommend this place to everyone needing glasses.

Staff is nice. Optometrist is younger arrogant & has a personality of a rock! An old man came out & said he sees worse than before! I'll never go back.
