Do not recommend. I love americas best but this location is a mess amd i will never go back. My first time getting contacts there and the rx on my right eye was wrong i waited 2 and a half hrs for the whole appointment. They said it was because they had a remote dr there instead of an onsite dr. Instead of sending me home with some trial pairs they had me order 3 months of the wrong rx. Not once did they offer me a trail pair. They made me feel like they just wanted my money and my appointmentto be over. As if its my fault my appointment was taking long. When I brought it up that I cant see after getting the order of contacts they never apologized or acknowledged the mistake. Instead they kept trying to schedule me with a remote dr again even after me telling them that I prefer to have a dr on site to address the problem. I ended up having to go to a different location to get the right rx. In the end americas best took care of everything. But not at this location.
Unprofessional! DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY REASON. There isn't a doctor onsite Monday - Friday. It's all done virtually...if there are any doctor's signed into the system. My wife's eye appointment was at 5:30, it was 6:45 before she went into the exam room, only to come out 5 minutes later because all the doctor's had signed off. They directed her to go to the Mason location the next day for her appointment because they didn't have availability at this location for the next day.
On top of that, the person conducting the pre-test for the exams never told me their name or introduced themself. They were dressed in a printed T-shirt and sweatpants. Until they called my name, I didn't even know they worked there. I thought they were a patient. Granted, I'm not saying you should be dressed in a suit and tie, but this is a medical profession which does bring the expectation that you are dressed at a minimum of business casual. I should be able to distinguish who is a patient and who is an employee.
This place has really went downhill VERY POOR SERVICE. Instead of the receptionist being friendly and helpful she acted like we were bothering her. When we went back in to pick our glasses up after the came in the girl asked if we were picking up and then told us to sit back in the waiting room (which really needed cleaning). She never asked our name or anything. We sat there about 15 min after the other customers left and I had to go up and ask if we could be waited on. We got our glasses and after paying all that money we received a rough cloth glass case to 'protect' our glasses. In the past we were given nice, hard sided cases but that's went downhill too. This is the last time we're going to America's Best because they no longer are.
Waited a hour and 15 mins for eye exam. Very unprofessional to have customers waiting so long when arriving on time for apt. The excuse was it's slower when using virtual dr, bad idea for business. Do better! Now I have to wait another month to get in at another eye dr.
We made an appointment online. Show up early. The 2 receptionist were busy very rudely gossiping about patients totally breaking HIPPA practices. They had a Dr running behind, so they moved my appointment to online WITHOUT MY CONSENT, and even with that ran 45 minutes behind. Their options of $95/2 pair frames were very limited. Only reason they got 2nd star was the young lady who worked with me on glasses order was super nice.
Beware when scheduling online, they don't make it clear that it's almost certainly a TELEMED visit. There's a little icon that you have to click to see details and then you read it's telemed. But chances are you're like me and see that icon and assume it's just web decor because all the appt slots look the same. I had no idea it was a clickable button I was expected to investigate!!
The store is filthy. We had a first appt of the morning and there's salt and dirt alllll over the floors from people walking around (it's winter currently). The bathroom was gross with no soap. And at no point did I see the techs clean a single piece of equipment, chin or forehead rest. And I was there over an hour (because they make you sit and wait a lot ... Even if you're the first appt!) There were no wipes visible anywhere and the tops of the machines were dusty.
To add to all that, I went in with a minor eye problem. I needed a new prescription so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone instead of going to straight to an ophthalmologist. I had no expectations that an optometrist could help my problem, but I needed to come anyways for the prescription. So I asked. The telemed doc told me she COULD help IF she'd been in person. But because she wasn't in person, I'd need to make ANOTHER eye appt and pay thru medical insurance (which has a high deductible so I'd be paying out of pocket towards deductible). I'm furious. I came to what I had every expectation to believe was an in person appointment! And if it had been, I'd have help with my eye. But instead I have to wait 2 more weeks for an appt, when I'd already waited two weeks for this one. In fact, I was there a week prior for my first scheduled appointment and was told upon arrival that they were having problems and had to cancel my appt. Why could they not have texted or emailed me this? Why wait for me to drive 20min to find out? Why not tell me right then and there when offering to reschedule that it'd be telemed?
I will never be back.
I scheduled an eye appointment and was seen promptly by the doctor, who was excellent and very professional. However, I experienced a long wait before the optician assisted me. Several customers who arrived after me were helped first, and when I was finally attended to, the interaction felt rushed.
I requested a copy of my glasses prescription and was told it would be mailed to me since the doctor had already left for the day. After two weeks without receiving it, I called the office multiple times before reaching someone. The staff member I spoke with was dismissive, stating they couldn't control what happens once mail is sent through USPS.
When the prescription finally arrived, the postmark indicated it was mailed a week after my call. While my experience with the doctor was positive, the behavior and professionalism of the office staff and opticians were disappointing.
This is a great place to have your eyes examined; they utilize the latest technology, and Dr. Michael was delightful to converse with. I would highly recommend her anytime. The front desk staff could improve their friendliness a bit when you first enter. Everyone appreciates a warm welcome. The young lady who helped me with my glasses. Her name was Erica, and she was wonderful to talk to. Overall, my experience was fantastic, and I will definitely return.
