Delays delays delays. I left my last appointment after waiting almost 2 hours. Rescheduled for today, one of the first appointments, and it's been more than 90 minutes since this process started. Pick a different provider.

I would give them a minus star if there was one. I called Corryville office to make appointment for an ophthalmologist explaining it had been a year and a half since I had seen my former doctor in California failing to keep up with my 6 month checkups on an eye condition I have. Instead of a medical doctor they provided me an optician unqualified to address the medical condition who gave me just a brief basic eye appointment. There's more to my predicament, including not returning a copay they requested in error. I spoke with the office manager, Dana, who said she would check their recorded appointment calls to confirm and then get back to me, which she did not. It's been almost 3 months and still no refund. She also told me they have no regular ophthalmologist at their location. I called my insurance company today and filed a grievance.

I had surgery on 7/28/25 and 8/11/25. The medical staff were very professional and caring. Dr. Peter Chen was very nice an caring. I would recommend CEI to people to use for eye care.

I receive excellent care from Dr. Hinel. This one-star review is because CEI cancelled my payment plan and now say they will not set up a new one. I have tried calling multiple times and they always transfer me to a "financial counselor," where I sit on hold for 20 minutes and then the line disconnects. On another frustrating note, there are sometimes extraordinarily long wait times. I need to see a specialist within CEI. If I had other local provider options, I would consider leaving CEI due to their administrative issues.

I wish I checked the reviews in more depth before my appointment today. First of all, the wait time was pretty unnecessary seeing as I was sitting in a room by myself for 40 minutes.
For context, I told the doctor a this was the first time going to the eye doctor in 8 years. The tip of the iceberg for me was after my eyes were dilated, the only thing my doctor told me was my eyes would be sensitive to light for a couple of hours. I drove myself home, and when I arrived home I had extremely blurry vision. I called the medical hotline to let them know what my symptoms were like and they said they would call me back and no one did. Disappointed that no one bothered to warn me about the potential eyesight changes. I was on my own and it was scary. I could have put other people and myself in danger on the road. Also no one called me back about my symptoms/side effects

when he shares information. The actual review is being done by Jack.: I have found Dr. Kaufman to be very thorough, quite willing to answer any questions that my wife and I have. He is very laid back which makes me feel comfortable. I was awake during the whole surgery and was amazed at how relaxed he was in performing the surgery and relating to the staff. I feel very blessed to have him as my surgical doctor.

Dr. Kaufman and his wife are both very professional and personable when it comes to your care. I have had a great experience thus far and expect this to continue as I have troublesome eyes and will see him often. Be prepared to possibly wait a while to see him. Good doctors are always worth the wait. Bring a book or a phone charger. His expertise is worth every minute that you wait. His wife, who works with him in the office, welcomes patients like family and if you have a problem or question they will get back to you very quickly, even when they are out of town. Sometimes it's tough to find a good, decent doctor. All the doctors at CEI who have treated my family have been great. Dr Kaufman far exceeds every expectation I look for in a doctor. I'm grateful to be under his care.
