Clarkson Eyecare

I went to the Clarkson Eyecare on Crookshank Rd because I was having trouble with the vision in my right eye. They spent a lot of time with me, running different tests to figure out the issue. He explained everything to me and showed why I was having vision problems and my different options to correct it. By far the best experience I've had at an eye doctor's office (everyone in the office was friendly and professional) and the doctor was exceptional!

I hadn't been here for awhile because they had lost their last optometrist, but decided to go just recently since they have a new one, Dr. Leonard. He was such a great eye doctor, and spent so much time explaining things and helping me with an issue I was having. I had an overall great experience with the doctor and the staff.

I had a bad experience with Clarkson once before. This time was nothing like it. The western hills office was amazing in every detail. I appreciate the friendly and helpful staff. I look forward to my next visits with Clarkson. Round of applause to the staff there!

I wanna give a shout out and recommend Dr. Leonard at Clarckson Eye Care on Anderson Ferry to anyone and everyone. To make a long story short I went into what I thought would be a routine eye exam only to be scheduling an MRI brain scan, a lumbar puncture, follow up nuero appointments in addition to Cincinnati Eye institute, all thanks to Dr. Leonard. Not only was the service top notch in the office but fast and friendly as well. Dr. Leonard noticed that my optic nerves were swollen, recommend I be seen at UC emergency room and be re-evaluated by their on-call optometrist and receive an MRI to evaluate my brain due to some other symptoms I've been having. After 8 hours in the ER, the doctors are pretty sure I have IIH and need some follow up testing and appointments. I've been put on medication and I immediately have relief from a consistent headache after 2 months of suffering. I cant be more greatful for the team and care provided at both establishments but mostly to Dr. Leonard for making the urgency known while also easing my emotional stress durring this situation. He even went as far as to call me while still in the emergency room before he went home for the day to make sure I was well. What a fantastic guy.

I had my original appointment scheduled for June 11th 2025 at 4:50. That I had scheduled back in February. Upon my arrival I was told it had been canceled by Barbara (one of the receptionist) without a phone call, text, or email... she also rescheduled my appointment for the following Tuesday June 17th at 4:30 without contacting to ask if it was an okay date/time. Fast forward to my appointment on Tuesday, I was told that my insurance didn't cover contacts (which indeed it does cover a years worth of contacts) my insurance covers up to $250 for frames and an additional 20% off anything more than $250. I found frames for $189, and didn't ask for anything else and walked out paying $361.99. It didn't really register with me until I got home and was looking at my receipt and noticed a bunch "applied to copayment charges" varying different amounts. I have a charge for $165 and have no clue what that charge is. I will be calling in the morning and heading back up to get a refund. This is so unprofessional and will not be returning.

This is a horrendous company with poor business practices. I made an appointment a week ahead of time, everyday after that I received a call questioning me about my insurance, I spoke with them and they assured me everything was fine. I went in for my appointment and they for some reason simply cancel my appointment, and they could not explain to me why they canceled it. I took the entire day off for this appointment and they were completely uncooperative and would not see me whatsoever. At this point I believe that this is a front, or they are overcharging insurance companies and do not like people to pay out of pocket, as they would than have to charge regular prices. This place should be audited. Obviously I recommend going somewhere else, this place is to be avoided at all costs. If I could I'd give them a zero Stars. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

Everyone I encountered was exceptional! Great team! Zane was very informative and helpful and super friendly. Highly recommend

I will not be returning to Clarkson Eye Care after my recent experience at their Western Hills location. I arrived for my appointment, and was informed upon arrival that it had been cancelled. There was no one else in the lobby waiting, and despite my being present I was told I could not have my appointment as intended. I had received no attempt to confirm my appointment via text or call and no notice that the appointment was cancelled. When attempting to reschedule I was told by the desk staff that there is not even a doctor present at this office, the appointments are all remote exams. This is not the first time I have had a less than impressive experience with this location, and have had similar feedback from family that used to go to this location, and I will not be making any attempts to reschedule now that I know that on top of poor office administration there is also not even a live doctor to meet with.
