I was referred to Midwest Eye to be evaluated for cataract surgery. After a series of tests done by a very nice young man, Dr Mendoza completed a few more tests and provided her evaluation. Her speech was rapid with little room for questions. I asked for more explanation when they called to schedule surgery. Dr Mendoza called me back within a few days and we discussed the options until I fully understood. She was patient with me on the phone.

Dr. Mendoza was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and honest. She did the appropriate testing, confirmed that I did indeed have significant cataracts. She was cautious, setting me up for a glaucoma test before setting a surgery date. She reaffirmed that this is elective surgery. It was not critical to do the surgery ASAP. She also candidly told me that any deterioration of vision due to growing cataracts would be slow, so that getting the surgery in the summer would not put me in any danger.

Between the techs that performed various tests and Dr. Mendoza I believe I received an excellent examination. I've been using Midwest Eye for over 40 years and am confident in their work. I have higher pressure in both eyes then the doctors prefer to see so I visit the doc every 6 months. They run on time - waiting is seldom more than a few minutes. Excellent practice.
