I am so fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Pence, and I honestly couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. Her scientific proficiency is of a rare caliber, and when combined with her genuine passion for her work, she provided me with all the answers I needed regarding the optimal management of my vision issues. The entire team at Madeira Optical operates at an equivalent level of excellence, functioning like a precious Swiss watch, meticulously respecting their clients' time and needs. They utilize state-of-the-art equipment for examinations (and yes, in optical science, precision is incredibly important!), and offer a vast array of eye care services and products. The retail space is as thoughtfully designed as the offices and examination rooms, with incredibly easy on-site parking available, and tailor-made insurance solutions that their sales team is eager to inform you about. In summary, if you are seeking the highest level of vision care services, Madeira Optical is certainly a frontrunner!

Dr Stoffel is amazing. My wife and I have been going Madeira Optical for years now and we are always impressed with the staff, professionalism, timing and technology. This year I was asked if I wanted to try a new product (bifocal contacts) for a changing prescription and they are a game changer! No compromises, better vision and no more readers. I love Dr. Pence! She is very thorough and spends considerable time explaining the pros/cons and rationale for things. The off ice is clean, comfortable and spacious. I was able to schedule my appointment in a reasonable time frame without having to wait months to be seen.

Dr Pence and her team make a visit to the eye Doctor totally enjoyable. Great people all around - thanks for handling the eye care of our family in such a friendly professional manner.

I really liked this practice for all of my family's initial visits. My daughter and I arrived for an appointment today and I didn't have my medical insurance card or ID on me (was trying to race to get kids home from school to make it to the appointment in time). The woman at the reception desk was visibly annoyed. She said that I wouldn't be able to be seen without the medical insurance on file even though our vision is covered on a separate vision plan that was on file. She was able to pull my driver's license from one of my children's profiles who was in recently. I don't know why she wouldn't pull the insurance card that was on file as well. Something I later recalled was that at a previous appointment, another receptionist allowed me to email the insurance card when it wasn't present. So the long short of it is that she refused to let me be seen. We left the office with our charts and prescriptions in tow. They lost 5 patients and the profit from the pair of glasses we were there to purchase for my daughter. I understand policies and procedures are in place for a reason but when they differ from person to person in the office, that is a problem. It's really too bad because I really loved the doctors we have seen there. Just left such a bad taste in my mouth I really don't want to return.

Best eye exam ever! Dr. Reese even went back and did additional imaging to make sure of what she was seeing. Much more thorough than I expected. The glasses I received were immediately way more comfortable than the last pair I got elsewhere. Service front to back for me was great. I saw all the opticians spending plenty of time with patients, also seemed to be great with kids, and Marlee who fitted my frames (and so patient with my frame shopping) helped me make good decisions at each step along the way. Frame selection is what brought me here in the first place. Great independent design houses, never seen so many hard to find brands under one roof. Highly recommend this office.
