Dr. Andrea Fisher

Dr. Andrea Fisher and the front desk clerk were both incredibly professional, friendly, and went out of their way to accommodate my mother, who is intellectually disabled. Their compassion and attentiveness truly stood out, and I would absolutely recommend Dr. Fisher to friends and family. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the nurse who assisted with my mom's eye scans. She was rude, impatient, and dismissive--particularly when I tried to address her behavior. While I understand that it can be frustrating to repeat instructions, my mother's disability is clearly documented in her chart, and that should have been taken into consideration. During the prep for Dr. Tucker, the nurse asked my mom to position her head for the scanner. Rather than demonstrating what to do in a calm and clear manner, she became visibly frustrated--sighing, twitching, and showing signs of impatience. I had to step in to physically show my mom what was needed. When I suggested adjusting the equipment to better suit my mom's needs, the nurse defensively insisted she was doing that, even though it was clear she was struggling to operate the device herself. When I expressed that I was getting frustrated with the situation, she immediately took it personally. I clarified that I was speaking in general, but she continued to escalate the conversation until I told her she was being unprofessional and that I intended to report her. She then abruptly ended the scan and escorted us to the room for the doctor's exam. Though I don't work directly with patients, I do work in healthcare IT, and I understand the importance of patience and compassion--especially when working with patients from diverse backgrounds and with varying cognitive abilities. This nurse failed in her responsibilities, not only to my mother, but also to the standards of MetroHealth. According to your mission statement, MetroHealth aims to "partner with patients, families, and caregivers to create and model a culture of service excellence, and to foster patient engagement through expertise, resources, innovation, and leadership." Unfortunately, this nurse did not embody any part of that mission. Her behavior not only ruined our experience but reflected poorly on your entire institution. As a result, I will be filing a formal complaint with the Ohio Department of Health to ensure that others do not have to endure a similar experience. While Dr. Fisher was outstanding, we will not be returning to this facility. I truly hope this feedback leads to appropriate action and training--because we need more healthcare providers like Dr. Fisher, and far fewer like that nurse.

Dr. Fisher was an absolute pleasure during our appointment. She spent a lot of time answering my questions and made me really feel like she cared about what she does but also her patients.

This DOCTOR is the best l've had in a long time. Very efficient careing and when I had to see another doctor still had to go back and see her to get my glasses right. I would recommend her for sure.

This provider is very cold. I asked questions and all she did was give me dirty looks. Never smiled once. I will never go to her again.
