I highly recommend avoiding this place! They are basically running a scam! I went there to get my eyes tested so I could have get my prescription numbers. They took my insurance card an they started to check me out. I will say that the staff there was very nice an professional. The doctor was not though. The eye test was very fast an not thorough. After the test they tried to get me to buy their overpriced glasses. I told them I just want my prescription numbers so I can purchase many different pairs online to try. They didn't want to give me my numbers at first but they let me take a picture of a paper with my info on it. They then charged me like 200 or 300 dollars. Turns out they dont take davis insurance. They decided to not let me know until my test was done. As soon as I left there I ordered glasses. Spent 400 on glasses an the prescription wasn't perfect. My right eye was off, kinda blurry. I called them an they said the test was perfect an that the glasses I bought probably ain't perfect. So I bought another pair, same results. Today I finally made a appointment at Clarkson eye care in Mt orab. Wow! Clarkson did a very professional job and got me hooked up. Not only was both eyes off from the Buckeye family eye clinic one even has a astigmatism. Please don't waste your time or money at buckeye!

Dr. Barton and her team are exceptional. I've had eye issues my entire life and while I wore glasses when I was a child, I stopped in HS. I started to notice something was wrong when I was pulled over for stopping at a stop sign in the middle of the intersection. I realized my depth perception was non-existent. I decided to go to my local Lens Crafter's eye doctor. My eye exam told me that my right eye was perfect, but my left eye had a pretty high prescription. I wore glasses for about a year, then ended up getting Lasik in my left eye in 2019 and then thought "I'm good now!" As the narrator would say, "Everything was not good." When COVID hit, I started working from home remotely and noticed the my eyes would strain while staring at the computer screens after a while. I also noticed that I would gradually move closer and closer to the screen to "see it better". I had issues reading where the words blurred together or I'd have to re-read the page multiple times. This became frustrating to me. I sought out another eye doctor at the beginning of 2025. He told me that my eye sight is fine and unfortunately glasses wouldn't help me with my issues because my eyes do not work together. When he said this, it really stuck with me. "My eyes don't work together." I went down the rabbit hole of researching what this means and how I could fix it. This is when I learned about BVD and found Dr. Barton. I filled out her form, scheduled my appointment, and was extremely nervous that I would get the same answer as I've been told that my eye sight is fine and nothing can be done. Dr. Barton and her team ran a battery of tests on my eyes and understood what I was saying about my symptoms and experiences. She spent many hours running exams and tests on my eyes and explaining the process, how she operates & thinks, and what is happening with my eyes. She said there was a solution. I was floored. "My eyes don't work together, but there is an answer." I ordered two pairs of glasses through the clinic - one for everyday and another specifically for computer work. I cannot tell you how much these glasses have changed my life. I didn't realize how bad my depth perception was and the feeling of being to truly "see". I had my follow-up appointment with Dr. Barton this past week after wearing my current prescription for 4 weeks. My prescription has changed and it was explained that this is normal. I can't wait to get the next prescription lenses and see even better. Thank you Dr. Barton!

I had my glasses looked at for the vision being off. picking up my glasses to see and also starburst like night vision when headlights appear. I complained twice and next they wanted to do my exam all over (which it is not he prescription its how the lab processed them) and wanted to charge me $250 for the exam just to be able to talk with Dr. Barton which i never ask for that to happen. But the gal that normally does the adjustments is no longer there. I thinki the lab messed up the glasses. The staff was rude and not paying attention to what i was trying tro convey to them.

Dr. Barton gave the absolute best and only thorough eye exam I have ever experienced. As a medical professional myself her ability to explain, demonstrate and advise on health issues was astounding. She personally delineated a proactive preventative care plan for complex medical issues. Her plan will help me age gracefully with hope that following her medical advice will thwart future problems before they begin. I am grateful, thank you Dr. Barton!!

Great first experience with my almost 4 year old. Dr Barton was absolutely wonderful with her!! She made her feel safe and made the exam a fun "contest" to win prizes! She can't wait to go back next year LOL

Would give a negative review if I could. Another review stated that $50 is required to even schedule an appointment with this DR. This is true and was a red flag to me. However, with specific eye issues, I was hopeful to obtain results. Upon completing numerous tests with her equipment machines, I was sent to order not one, but two pairs of eyeglasses based on DR Barton's 'evaluation". At checkout I was given a bill for over $1300. Needless to say this was definitely sticker shock. However, if these glasses would correct the issues I was having, I would absorb this cost. Upon receiving the eyeglasses a couple of weeks later, I was furious to discover that there was NO difference in my vision issues at all. After calling the office with my concerns and getting no response back as I was told to expect, I contacted the office again and was finally given an appointment with the "optical manager". Upon meeting with this person, I was informed that there was nothing wrong with the eyeglasses and some eye problems couldn't be corrected with glasses. WHAT??? This information was never told to me by the DR before she sent me out to get the eyeglasses she said I needed. Giving the patient the information they need to make the best decision for their care and treatment is not only necessary, but the ethical expectation. After then being informed by the optical manager that this office does not do refunds I made an appointment to speak with DR Barton about this situation. Upon arrival for this appointment, I was informed that I needed to have another test before I could meet with Dr Barton and, oh yes, I would be charged for the test and an office visit. I explained that the appointment I made was not for more testing but with Dr Barton to discuss the eyeglass issues. According to the staff unless I paid for another test and office visit I could not meet with Dr Barton. This DR and the office staff are friendly until there is a problem and or complaint. Clearly, this office is only concerned about money rather than the best outcome for the patient. When a DR doesn't even have the common courtesy to meet with her patient to address concerns and complaints it says much about her character and priorities. To this date I have yet to be refunded for eye vitamins that I decided not to order through this office and it has been over 4 weeks since this order was cancelled. In my world, respect and trust are earned not given. This office has neither.
