This place is probably one of the best around their staff is awesome, very kind very helpful. In every manner I have been going here for years. I love they helped.I get when it comes to getting new glasses and working with benefits from my insurance company.They are awesome thank you guys

If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. The place has a very unwelcoming vibe. They operate more like a business than an eye care facility that cares for patients. I have been going there for few years, and multiple times Dr.Louis regards what I say. Moreover, recently they checked my eyes incorrectly, as the I got glasses from two different places on their prescription but I was still having issues, I went there for a check-up again, but they weren't co-operative. I now see in reviews other people having similar issues.

Arrived to my appointment early which I continued to get reminders about, just to be told they scheduled someone else over me and that I could wait to see if they show up or reschedule. Extremely disappointed as I waited over a month for this appointment. Would not recommend.

Recieved a text today at 4:12 informing me that my daughters glasses were ready. Google says they close at 5pm on Friday, yet their door said they closed at 3:30?! The. The website says they close at 4. This is extremely disrespectful to patients and their time. How are you going to text me after you close? Change your Google patient hours to match your office hours. This was entirely disappointing, and I wasn't the only one it happened to today, March 21, 2025. Edit: There was even an email sent with hours stating they closed at 5PM. Disappointing.

I had the best experience at this location. I was able to get an appointment quickly, which was great since I lost my glasses. The optometrist Dr. John Lovas is a very friendly & knowledgeable man. He reassured me about some concerns I had about my eyes and you can just tell he loves what he does. They have such a great reasonably priced selection of glasses. The woman that helped me with my order and helped figure out what my insurance covered was also very nice. I cannot wait until my new glasses come in and I just couldn't wait to leave a review for, in my opinion, best eye doctor in Ohio!

So I have personally been going to Maumee Bay for a few years, when it was time for my son to get contacts it was a no brainer. This time around was different than the years before, even scheduling was hard and normally its not like that, experience was different also seemed like some of the staff was new and not knowledgeable it just seemed really different but not in a good way.

I would definitely NOT recommend this place! Go here if you want to be robbed blind! They are definitely not upfront about what insurance covers and play games! The frames are so overpriced. I told the lady that was helping us choose frames I only want what my insurance covers. Even after that she added lenses that the insurance would not cover all the way and the bill came out to be almost $500! I already pay my insurance so much! When I asked the front desk lady to break down the bill and that I only want the lenses that insurance covers she lied and said they only cover 'basic plastic'. She acted like they did not make the lenses that insurance would cover! When I showed her my vision insurance policy about what they cover on my phone (they did cover scratch resistant) she tried to guilt me by telling me the benefits of the super overpriced lenses and that they 'get more light to your eyes'. They played so many games with me I just took my eye script and am getting glasses somewhere else. My husband and I were so shocked by the bill of 'insurance covered glasses' we just looked at each other and the lady was ridiculous enough to say, 'we also can do a payment plan ' . Some future advise to the staff: honestly and being upfront about insurance goes a long way and is the key to success in business

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HERE FOR GLASSES!!!!! Overpriced to just to still not be able to see clearly.. I've gotten two pairs of glasses and the lenses were too strong far as the outlook for me to see clearly this is literally a type of place where you basically get what you pay for now I have to wait another 6 months to get the proper lenses for my glasses to see better
