Really great customer service! They were understaffed and handled it gracefully. They were quick and efficient handling us. We've dealt with Walmart in the past and this visit was a breath of fresh air.
Had a wonderful experience! From the appointment to getting to check out! It was my sons first appointment and he had a good time and that makes all the difference! We weren't rushed everyone was very nice and it couldn't have been better thank you guys again!
I scheduled appt in good conscience at this Pearle location. Dr. Sherman in 2025 & his name was on the schedule-my husband went to him & it was very thorough he said & found a scratch on his eye.
So I show up for my appt in Jan to learn Dr. Sherman left back in Nov. I should have walked out, but didn't. There were extra costs not covered by ins, etc. I was never told about. Then after all the testing they couldn't even give me a simple prescription for updated readers. My ins runs out in Jan too. After all that BS & wasting my time, I was told my cataracts are too bad. Why the heck didn't you check for cataracts first? I feel this place did the bait & switch at my expense. In my head I'm calling them a lot of bad names. I'll never go back there! You've been warned.
I came here for an eye exam after my current prescription got weak. This is the first time I've been here as a new patient. The staff was very nice. Dr. Garofalo was extremely professional and kind. I would recommend this location.
I wouldn't suggest going to Pearle Vision in Stow/Kent. My wife and I went, her frames were wrong when glasses were ready. Asked them to correct the issue and received a $57 surprise charge afterwards. Went through four attempts to get my glasses made correctly. I still don't have a pair of glasses I can use, everything looks like a fishbowl and the lenses were never ordered correctly. Finally gave up! The prescription was correct, the employee tasked with measuring and ordering the lenses apparently can't do his job. If I hadn't gotten glasses elsewhere that works great I wouldn't have any idea Pearle Vision was so bad. Don't waste your time or money here. If I could give negative stars I would.
Couldn't even tell my girl that her glasses were ready. Little to No communication with the customer. They don't even know their own open or closed hours. Any question we asked, they had to go talk to a supervisor. They could be training, but shouldn't your sales associates know your hours before they even hop on the phone? And why couldn't you say anything about her glasses? That's not fair... She needs those. What You make the sale and then, it's bon voyage, every man for himself?? Even when I was there, I did most the talking. Understandably, they got a job to do. And I'm a talkie guy. But come on now, what are you guys really doing in there man?
My review is mixed. There is no question my eye exam was top notch. The doctor took his time to make sure all measurements were correct, I never felt rushed when answering questions.
The facility is clean, there are friendly employees that made me feel welcome. When buying the frames, there is a lot to choose from at a variety of price points.
What I was not prepared for was the high pressure sales. I was consistently offered outrageously priced frames which only improved somewhat after sharing my discomfort with the quoted price. None of the frames had prices on them so the salesperson had to go and check his computer each time. I finally bypassed him and picked frames of a much more modest brand on the very top shelf.
That was not fun, but it was acceptable because, otherwise, the salesperson was friendly, funny, engaging.
What finally did make me decide to not come back to this store was when it was time to talk about lenses. He offered me a package price that included what my insurer contributed. I had to ask if that included progressive lenses. He reassured me of course it did. He asked about additional warranty which I declined. It was worrisome that I was not shown any more lens options when I know there is a wide difference between all the available options and that it can dramatically affect the price.
I paid the amount he quoted me. He handed me the receipt with the itemized bill. I looked at it and realized that a few other options had been included in the price that I was never asked about such as UV coating for front and back. At that point I just wanted to be done. It was quite obvious that this sales person depended on commission, but his paycheck should not be tied to my inability to choose what I actually want to pay for. I'm not sure if all Pearle Vision locations operate this way, but I don't have any intention of finding out.
This might be a good experience for someone with the budget to go all out and someone who doesn't care about, or want to understand, the different lens options. This simplified the process and made it easier to find frames that really improve your appearance. But that customer was not me.
The sales associate wasn't very informative. They had no problem taking my money, but gave no actual list on the bill to explain the cost. The answers to my questions were incredibly vague.
It was over two weeks before I found out my glasses were ready, and I had to call them to find out. They didn't even notify me. I also asked for the hours when I found out my glasses were done, and the woman actually had to put me on hold for over 4 minutes just to find out what their hours were the next day. This is definitely not a customer-oriented business. I was less than impressed. Unfortunately, they were the only place that had the frames I wanted, or I would have walked right back out the door.
