Corrective Eye Center

This establishment at minimum is unprofessional but as I see it should definitely be looked at for the legality for what is being done to vulnerable patients. As a provider, someone asked me to assist their elderly mother of over 70 years old who was in the background crying because she was unable to get her records from this facility and she was told she had to pay $25 (of which she didn't have)to receive a copy, which I know that is very much illegal and goes against Ohio vision laws. I was highly concerned but a little leery and cautious as I couldn't believe what I was hearing. However thank goodness the daughter actually recorded and documented exactly what they were told by this facility, therefore I understand what the patient complained of was factual. The patient also stated it had been awhile so that means they refused to release her documented records for $25 which she has been without eyewear and in tears for a year, possibly 2 years or even longer, the patient was not afforded the opportunity to have a copy of her documented record of treatment and they showed me the receipt that the insurance paid for her eye care visits in full. I was on the phone when the daughter reached out again to try and help her mother receive her records. They would not comply. I referred them to a very reputable eyecare provider to assist the family, as I was very upset regarding the treatment of our senior and elderly patients, although I would be just as upset with any patient being treated this way, our vulnerable community needs to be assisted in ways they may not be able to help themselves. The other company that I referred them to, even tried to get the records for a month and they too were unable to obtain them. However they were able to just take care of her mom, she is very happy. I appreciate the care they took in helping her through this terrible situation. I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone and I encouraged the daughter to file with the vision professional board and submit a complaint with the FTC.

At my appointment in July, I scheduled a future appointment for late December. This was a very intentional scheduling as that specific week I was off from my job, and thus did not have to use any sick time to attend the appointment. Less than two weeks before the December appointment, the office called me to reschedule. They refused to reschedule me during the specific window that I was available, even though they were the party responsible for the inconvenience. The employee I spoke with, Paige, was unpleasant and indifferent on the phone. After several awkward minutes, she offered me an appointment the next day but sounded as though it was the greatest challenge of her life to do so.

Dr. Louis is great but beware if you pay your bill with a credit card. Paid my bill with FSA/HSA card, and same day payment went through, my card was maxed out on big Amazon purchases that were FSA/HSA eligible. When I contacted Corrective Eye Center's financial dept., I was told they outsource their payments. Needless to say, that more than likely means there will be no accountability for what happened. So, won't be going back there.

My experience with Dr Shafran was one of the absolute best medical experiences I have ever had. I contacted her as I had almost no vision in my right eye. I only had a very narrow window of opportunity to see her as we were getting ready to leave town. She worked me into her schedule for an examination. She was very professional and extremely efficient. She saw me and managed to get me scheduled the next day, performed the laser procedure, and by that evening I could once again read. I would never have believed this could happen if I hadn't experienced it.

A wonderful experience from start to finish! Corrective Eye Center is staffed by the friendliest, most organized people. From the moment you walk in for your first appointment, you're made to feel welcome. The surgical experience was amazing! The pre-op prep is relaxing and informative. You really feel like you're in the hands of professionals. Dr. Lewis has a calm, friendly confidence that makes it easy to trust him with your eyesight. He lets you know what is going on at each step. The surgery was quick and painless as was the recovery. The results were mind blowing. What a difference!! The office and nursing staff actually made me better at my job. They all make wonderful eye contact, are friendly all the time and make you feel like a VIP, despite the fact that they see dozens of patients a day. The whole place runs like a well-oiled machine. It truly does. I try to channel that sort of energy in my own dealings with the public. I am glad that I made this investment in myself and am thankful that I entrusted my vision to Dr. Lewis and his team. I give them my highest recommendation!

I was very impressed with the way everything was so efficiently and professionally done. I really felt very comfortable with everyone and especially pleased with Dr. Gregory Louis who was very informative and made me feel at ease with his explanation of what my concerns were. I really feel he has a wonderful and caring bed side manner.

Dr Greg Louis was personable, friendly, and very attentive. He listened to my concerns and did not rush my appointment. He was very witty and had a great sense of humor. I would recommend Dr Louis any day.

I was seeing Dr. Louis and that was great! Now that Dr. Louis is retiring, I was scheduled to see Dr. Younger (I believe). The tech (Lakshmi?) was late 20+ minutes, didn't apologize, was incompetent putting the numbing drops in my eyes, clumsy measuring my eye pressure. Another while waiting for the doctor. Mispronounces my name, I correct him, doesn't acknowledge. All around unprofessional and disrespectful. Meanwhile, the office seemed empty, so why the wait?
