This is the optometrist of Moore. IMHO... They always roll out the red carpet for us here and I highly recommend going here if you don't already have an optometrist....
Dr. Ledbetter has been my eye doctor since I was 12 years old. I am now 41. I have since moved almost an hour from Moore, but still continue to drive to his office. He is hands down an amazing eye doctor, he cares for you as his patient, and always has the most up to date technology for your best care. His office manager has been with him longer than I can remember, and overall everyone is so accommodating and helpful.
I was referred to Dr. Ledbetter by my aunt, who's been seeing the Dr. for around 40 years, since we were in high school.
I greatly appreciated the professionalism and compassion shown to me by the doctor and his staff.
I went to Dr. Ledbetter for the first time after an eye injury. He and his staff were terrific. They got me into the office the same day, treated my eye with care, and gave me an emergency number to call if I had problems over the weekend. Great experience - wonderful people. I highly recommend this office.
I chose this place based on reviews and because it was convenient. I was told I had to pay to get my prescription. I had a balance that I needed to pay before I could get contacts and prescription for eye glasses. I've never had to pay over $10 for appointments. I've had the same insurance for years. After the first visit, I was unsettled with the choice that I made of switching but I reconsidered my decision. After thinking about it, I don't think I will return.
My experience was not a good one, but I hope it can help someone else. I had been told I could not wear contacts because of my extreme stigmatism. Truth is there are multiple options out there Maybe he was just not aware. Regardless of that when I went to pick up my glasses all week I could not see well. I returned everything and went in for a second opinion on my vision, turns out my prescription was over powered in one of my eyes. I am still unsure about my daughter who has worn glasses since 4 year's old and he said she doesn't need correction for a lazy eye.
I contemplated even writing out this review. But the more that I set here and think about it. The more upset I get, and I wouldn't want any patient walking out of this office feeling the same way I do right now.
First off all, when I called to make the appointment I was never told I would have to pay an extra fee. My VSP card said my exam is 10.00$, this particular doctor charges $35.00 insurance because of his personal option to do so by using an extra machine. (Not that I don't have the money, but it would've been nice to know before making the appointment.)
The first lady did most of the tests; she was very sweet and helpful. After working with her we went into the room with the Dr. Ledbetter. We were sitting in the exam room listening to my daughter struggle seeing the letters. I know her and how she reacts to certain situations. I could tell she was nervous and having a hard time deciphering and telling the Dr. what she was seeing. I let her struggle for a bit thinking that things would clear up soon. But I could tell she was getting anxious (she has a disability by the way) and when she gets anxious she rambles quite a bit. I spoke up and told Lilly it was okay, to just take a look through the glass and make sure that she could comfortably see the letter before answering the question. (Dr. is asking if she can see it. She's a very literal child, if she can even remotely make it out even if she is struggling, she will say she can see it.)
Dr. Ledbetter laughed, turned around and said, "I know what I am doing, I've been doing this for 30 years. I will treat her like she is my own grandchild."
First of all, I didn't think you were treating her like she wasn't a kid you knew. Second of all, you don't know her. You can treat her like your grandchild but she's different than your grandchild. You know who knows her best? Her mom. I think that was pretty disrespectful that he turned around and said that. I should be allowed to talk to my daughter during her exam(and help her be comfortable when I realize shes starting to get agitated) and for him to not turn around and make me feel like a child by telling me "no no" in his "polite", rude, cynical way. I dont think he is a bad dr by any means, I think he should realize that parents know their children pretty well and he should take that into consideration before snipping at a mama.
I won't be back.
I made my daughter an eye appointment with Dr. Ledbetter just as a check up and everyone, including the receptionist, the nurse who did the exams and Dr. Ledbetter were so helpful and friendly. Really amazing customer service and such a clean, beautiful and comfortable office. I would recommend this place 100%.
