The Animal Eye Doctor

I needed to have my old anxious Frenchie receive follow up care for her injured eye and my vet recommended this place. I had several interactions with the staff over the phone and I knew she was in good hands even before her appointment. Staff was kind, considerate and gentle with my pooch and took their time chatting with me and explaining her issues. Dr Moody and her staff did a wonderful job and for a really reasonable price. Highly recommend this business.

I wanted to wait a bit to write this review; we are now approximately a month post surgery. My experience here has been amazing from start to finish. Every person I spoke with was professional, compassionate and patient with me. This was an extremely stressful situation, and many decisions had to be made in a short period of time. My pug (franklin) had to have one eye removed and a graft put on his second eye. Staff took the time to explain my options to me, helped weigh the pros and cons, and gave me the time to process. I know that I read reviews prior to coming here, and went through them again before I made the call for franklin to have his surgery. If you are doing the same thing and reading this, let me tell you something: You are making the right call. It may be scary looking at images of different surgeries, but your pet is in good hands here. The procedure went perfectly for Frank, and his post-op recovery has been flawless and supported at every step by the staff here. I highly recommend them, and am so grateful for the amazing care they gave Franklin.

I felt heard and my cat felt seen! My care team was exceptional; kind to both me and my cat, explained everything in a way I could understand, and I didnt feel like they were rushing to get to the next patient. Just the experience I needed while worrying about my Goose's eyes

To the amazing staff at the Animal Eye Doctor, we want to thank you for taking such great care of Yogi our black lab in June. The medications you gave for his glaucoma really helped him feel comfortable again, and your expert examination also brought to our attention that his cancer has spread to his eyes. Every person we met that day was so kind and gentle. We were extremely moved to then receive a card from you in the mail after his passing, as he had only been to your clinic once. We could not be more grateful, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We started coming here after our regular vet wasn't quite sure what was going on with our german shepherd Savage's eye. Dr. Moody is incredibly thoughtful and thorough! She answers all our questions and makes sure we know what the plan is moving forward after each appointment! We also love the team, especially Kat! They make us feel welcome and heard each and every time. Appointments are easy to book and communication is thorough with reminder texts before appointments and emailed visit summaries afterwards.

Dr. Moody and Julia were attentive to my 6 year old Shihtzu and her concerning eye cloudiness. They immediately diagnosed the issue and prescribed medication. Relieved it was a treatable condition, and relieved that they were good at their job. Highly recommend this clinic. Thank you!

My sweet dog and I absolutely love the care we receive from Dr. Boles and the entire team at the Animal Eye Doctor. From the moment we walk in, everyone is so friendly, kind, and genuinely caring. They treat us both with such compassion and make every appointment smooth, quick, and stress-free. Dr. Boles is an incredible ophthalmologist--patient, knowledgeable, and always taking the time to explain everything clearly. My dog feels comfortable and safe here, which means the world to me. I would never go anywhere else for her eye care. We are so grateful for this amazing team!

I had a sudden emergency after what was assumed to be a small scratch on my dog's eye ended up getting drastically worse over the weekend. I was advised to find a ophthalmologist as soon as possible. There is a severe shortage in the Portland/Vancouver area, but we found The Animal Eye Doctor and despite the short notice, were able to get in the next morning. Anthony was kind and considerate over the phone setting up the appointment and greeting us the next morning, and the staff was kind and patience with my anxious girl. I appreciated the time, consideration and care they gave us as we navigating getting our pup diagnosed with glaucoma and, educated on it being hereditary and will be getting her sister looked at as well do we can prevent any loss of eyesight.
