Canby Eyecare

I went to this clinic last year. I was originally looking at signing up for an online VSP membership but saw they had their own so signed up with them and paid $195. I made an appt for eye exam and then proceeded to look into glasses and lenses. I was quoted $650-$800 (after 30% discount!!) I left due to the ridiculous price. I also asked about a PD reading so I could go to another supplier and was informed that would cost another $40. I had asked to defer the dilation because I had work to do but the dr really wanted it done same day - she said it would take 2-3 hours to wear off so I reluctantly agreed. The eye doctor did additional scans looking at retina images - when I inquired - she said she was checking for possible retina tears. I asked what would cause that and she said my glasses. This made me feel fearful and it took over 24 hours for the dilation to wear off - interfering with work I had to do that afternoon. After the appt I asked around cause the teared retina and extended dilation seemed odd. I later confirmed that myopia may be an issue but not the glasses. After doing some of my own research, I found glasses for less than $300 and called the clinic to negotiate a partial refund of the fee I had paid since it wasn't a discount at all. 30% off frames that are 3x the market price isn't a savings at all. I was told the exam costs $190 - so essentially I paid for a discount and got a whopping $5 off. I then asked for a call back from the owner who called and claimed they are a high end shop and she wasn't willing to refund any of my cost. She then added they do have less expensive eyewear. Too late - bridge burned, terrible place - I'll never go back and recommend others shop around. Overpriced, misinformation and a capitalistic, uncaring owner.

After a not so good experience last week with my existing frames coming back damaged from new lenses installed things worked out very well today 11/10/25. Cynthia at Canby Eyecare was very kind to offer new frames to me at no charge to replace my damaged ones. Very happy with the outcome. Sincerely, Darin Yost

Wonderful reception staff. Patient techs. My daughter could not sit still, and the girl doing her exams was so patient and so sweet. They staff is so knowledgeable and polite. The Doctors are easy to talk to and answer questions. I love the selection of glasses available for kids with state insurance. My 4 kids and I all love this office.

We decided to move on after the owner instituted a new policy of $39 to receive pupillary distance numbers for our child. These numbers are already in their system and part of the process of fitting eyeglasses being purchased for our son, but the owner's attempt to make a money grab before clients order frames from other sources is obvious. Not the best move. Sad, the staff is incredible here and nothing but positive to say about them, but they are being hit with a decision from the owner that I feel is not a good luck for Canby Eyecare.

I had my very first appointment here today, 6/11/25, and EVERYONE there is just fantastic; From the front desk ladies to the Optometrist, etc. I had my tiny, 6 week old daughter with me (Us mom's know how it is!) and they were very accommodating and exceptionally kind. Two different times, the ladies held my daughter for me, so I could do the exams. The last month or so has been REALLY tough on me and they were very supportive in all the right ways- Now, I bring this up because I had a misunderstanding with my insurance and I ended up breaking down and crying... I felt SO embarrassed but they didn't make me feel bad about my public, ugly crying. They actually handed me tissues, got me water.. They genuinely helped me and it made me feel taken care of. This business is just all around, a really nice place; Outside, inside and most definitely when it comes to the employees. I would 10/10, recommend Canby Eyecare. I WILL be returning to this business when I need eye care in the future. Note for staff: Thank you all, for your care and support. I appreciate all of you wonderful ladies for your help and for not making me feel bad about breaking down like I did.. Seriously- THANK YOU .

My experience at Canby Eyecare is exceptional every time. I am greeted with smiling faces and professional people who care about my wellness. Dr. McFerron spends the necessary time to be precise during my examine. When I leave I feel as if I have been the most important patient to them.

I have been going to Canby Eye Care for years. Dr. McFerron and her staff have always given me excellent care. In recent years I have developed some pretty unique (and at times, painful) conditions with my eyes. She has seen me through some pretty challenging issues with the utmost of care, concern and knowledge. Everyone that you encounter in this practice is friendly, professional, personable and stands ready and eager to help with a positive attitude and a smile.

I had a very nice experience with Dr. Ozuna and the clinic team! Dr Ozuna is very knowledgeable, professional, caring and honest!
