I went here in Eugene for both an eye health check and a vision exam for glasses. Most of the exam was done by a very young assistant who appeared to be around 20. During the test, bright ceiling lights were glaring into my eyes while I was asked to read a chart reflected in a mirror. I had to suggest that she tilt the mirror to reduce the glare, which helped but should have been considered from the start. I wondered how many other patients had endured that situation since this seemed to be something not even considered - that the mirror is too close to the ceiling lights. At the end of the exam, I told her that none of the lenses she showed me made the letters truly clear. Some appeared sharper, but there were still distortions. When I saw the doctor, I explained this to him. He quickly had another assistant--not an optometrist--recheck me for about five minutes. Also a very nice and polite guy but with no mention of any credentials. After that, the doctor told me he didn't know why my eyes couldn't be corrected to 20/20 and suggested I get a second opinion. Altogether, he spent less than five minutes with me total that entire visit before essentially giving up and saying this perscription "is the best I can do go see someone else". It was odd because I didn't first say "Should I see someone else?" I was just like I'm not trusting the test gave you an accurate prescription because usually by the end of an eye exam, what the optometrist is showing me is very clear and today each lens showed to me looked distorted. I later talked to the office and they said Well, the doctor is more about looking at the health of the eye, he's not an optometrist. If that's the case and they don't ever do exams themselves they shouldn't offer eye exams. Why are they offering eye exams here? Yes Ill go for a second opinion but that is now coming out of my own money, not theirs. What's worse, he criticized Walmart doctors but allowed his own unlicensed staff to perform the bulk of my exam. My insurance covered this visit, and I later purchased a $1,000 pair of trifocals from Focal Point that are practically unusable for computer work. I can barely see my screen, which has caused constant errors in my work. Finally, they dilated my eyes without warning me about the side effects or asking if I had someone to drive me. I had to drive an hour and a half home in glaring sunlight, barely able to see. I had to stop at two stores before finding sunglasses dark enough to reduce the pain and impairment. The effects lasted over five hours, and it was one of the scariest drives I've ever had. This experience left me feeling hopeless and dismissed. They wasted my time and money. This is not the first time. On another occasion I called when I had an issue with a bump on the outside of my eye and they had me come in and then the doctor said he doesn't work on that issue and referred me to another office. That visit cost me $350. The only positive thing I will say is their office staff was very nice.

My review is gone? Here we go again, I went to make an appointment, amazing experience got me in the next week. Great start very professional and nice people. Went for the eye exam, contact exam. Eye exam went well. Loved the doctor. My eyes were dilated longer than they have ever been dilated before. I asked if I was done, since I felt like I wasn't. They said I was, so I left. They called me asking me if I could come back because my exam wasn't done. So I drove all the way back to finish my exam. (It feels like no one knows what is happening there) Contact exam is finished I told them I just don't want the brand of contacts that I currently have because they break easily and upset my eyes. I brought in the boxes the next day so they would have the brand on file. I feel like everyone has the information from me. I always go home with sample contacts. Then try them, go from there. This place said they had to order them and then I could pick them up in a week. Cool, that doesn't seem too bad. Get a call in about a week saying they are done and can be picked up, I go in....no one knows anything about my contacts. No one has any advice for me or knows who called me. I said, "okay when should they be here?" And the lady said and I quote, "I don't know I don't work at the post office." So this place has all the red flags. It's been 2 months since my exams now, 2 months! I have no sample contacts. Called today they have no idea who my doctor was and where the sample contacts are. I used my one exam with my insurance. I have no choice but to work with these disorganized people. Just received another call, saying that the doctor will be at the Florence location ONLY TOMORROW. Which is the ONLY day I won't be in town. This is ridiculous. They are holding my contacts hostage. They didn't reach out to me, I had to reach out to them. DO NOT GO HERE.

75$ contact fitting exam required before they release my prescription or allow me to order contacts. I already wear contacts and have for years.
