Always a pleasant experience from my one on one with Dr Kanoff and his staff. Very personable and very sensitive to any concerns about my eye health if I needed a discussion. I keep showing up for the only reason I know and that is a great office great surgeons and a high respect from me. Thank you Dr Kanoff and Staff. CH
I've been with Ophthalmology Physicians & Surgeons, PC for many years. Getting an appointment has never been an issue. They take you in on time and never had to wait. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I'm so happy to be using Dr. Kanoff. He spends time with his patients and gives a thorough eye exam! I recommend this practice 100 percent!
Unfortunally I had a very poor experience during my first time visit to see Dr. Kanoff for a routine eye exam. I waited over an hour to see Dr. Kanoff without any updates or explanations given to me until I asked. I understand emergencies happen so this is not why my review is so low. The office staff were unprofessional (talking about other patients out loud for others to hear) and their systems chaotic (they had the wrong patient file, didn't know why I was there, etc.). Dr. Kanoff did not introduce himself to me as a first time patient and showed no effort in understanding my medical needs. When I was finally seen, as a first time patient, I was not asked my medical history, medications taken, nor given the type of eye exam I am use to. I found the quality of care extremely low. I have medical issues that put me at high risk of retina disease and when I brought this up they were not concerned, nor understood. It was a very poor quality exam and visit.
Please do not waste your time (or your vision coverage) with this practice and this Doctor. He is extremely dismissive, rude, rushed, does not take the time to listen before reaching conclusions, will not explain anything, and his staff are the same way. His optometrist asked me why part of my prescription was a certain way, and was extremely rude and scoffed when I said I did not know. She had the audacity to say (after about 1 second looking at my prescription) that I shouldn't have progressive lenses- just because I am young. Without asking anything about my history or anything. Truly the worst eye doctor experiences I've had in my 30+ years of going to eye doctors here and in other states.
My own experience with Drs. Peet and Kanoff has been positive -- Not without a few post surgical problems, but nonetheless positive. Both doctors performed their respective tasks conscientiously and well.
The same complimentary accolade may also be applied to their associated optician, Barry Brobst -- Who showed, both, my wife and I that he really knows optics, as well as how to correctly fit a pair of eyeglasses.
Dr. Kanoff is caring, smart, and personable. The nurse who assisted was pleasant and helpful. The receptionist in the front today acted like my dad and I were bothering her and I felt bad for my dad who just wanted to get his routine exam. She made a bad impression going in and checking out. Not sure if this is the regular receptionist.
Clean and pleasant atmosphere and staff. Very satisfied with the doctor, Steven Kanoff, MD, who serviced my 88 yr old mother - extremely patient and kind with her. Only drawback, based on my experience with my moms former ophthalmologist - I was under the impression when I made the appointment, it would be a complete annual visit, including an eye exam (for a prescription, if necessary), as well as dilation, checking for glaucoma and any other eye diseases... was not told it was an additional $50 fee to be included in the scheduled visit when making the appointment, until the visit was over. Now, I will have to take additional time from work to have an eye exam... which I will, because mom needs it - and as I said I am totally satisfied with the actual visit. The staff should ensure that new clients are given this information when making an appointment... thank you.
Dr. Kanoff is great. His eye exams are thorough. I left my appointment feeling I totally understood the problem I had. He took his time and answered all my questions. I'd be happy to recommend him.
