Pittsburgh Optical - Bridgeville

First, I have been seeing Dr. Rebecca Knorr-Peters for many years and followed her to Pittsburgh Optical after she left Crossroad Eye Care. She is the utmost professional and very knowledgeable. The issue I have is with their office staff. I had my first appointment at this office on August 29th. As I was leaving they forgot to give me my prescription. No big deal since I didn't need it right away. I called on September 25th asking for it. The person responded saying that it would be mailed. After two weeks I never got it but I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it might have been lost in the mail. I called again on October 7th for it. They assured me this time that it would be mailed. Again, nothing. I called the morning of October 14th and placed on hold for 15 minutes before hanging up. Frustrated, I proceeded to drive to the office to pick it up. When I told the person at the desk about requesting this twice before, she offered no apology or explanation. She pulled my file, wrote out the script, and flippantly handed it to me as if she was doing me a huge favor. While my file was open, there were no signs of a past script ever written. I'm confident that they just ignored my first two requests. If I hadn't driven to the office personally, I'm sure I'd still be waiting. As much as I would like to stay with Dr. Knorr-Peters, I will be looking elsewhere for my future eye care needs.

Have been coming here for 4-5 years now. Always an easy appointment and able to help with ordering more contacts or getting a pair of glasses per my benefits. Nice office staff and Docs are great.

I really liked how they treated me and the thorough exam. I'm 58 and been wearing glasses/contacts since I was 6. I see better after this appointment than I have since first time I put glasses on. Kudos and thank you.

The people who work there were very polite but I'm really not happy with the process right now. I've been coming here for years now and truly enjoy the place but not happy today! My glasses broke last week and I called and was told the new frame would be in the store 3 days from then, then it went to 3-5 then another few days. Ok then I get there and they sent a bigger frame because mine isn't made anymore, just upset because I've been dealing with headaches because of it, and now have to wait again! I just wish someone either where they send the glasses from or the people working would have noticed that. Again they were polite but I'm just upset that the extra mile was taken and I am going to deal with headaches for another 3-4 days I guess.

Great experience here after not seeing the eye doctor for quite some time. Dr. Carr (sp) did not judge me or belittle me for not coming in sooner she just handled the exam efficiently and was very pleasant. The office is very neat and the glasses were arranged well and prices were marked and easy to read. This was a great experience. Now I just got to talk the wife into going.

I have been a patient there for the past couple of years. Today - I was in need for help. I broke my glasses and needed the prescription. They can only fax me my prescription (for glasses, not drugs) and cannot email it to me. I am pretty frustrated because they could have provide some relief to a frustrating situation but they did not. They added to it.

My recent eye problem prompts me to alert anyone from choosing this group as a doctors office. I was experiencing severe pain in an eye and called for an appointment, one was scheduled in 3 days. My family and i have been patients for at least 5 years. I showed up 2 days later and waited until they would see me. Long story short, they misdiagnosed the problem and i had to go to the hospial. Two weeks later i am healing. Dawn did call with a follow up check but in no way were the doctors concerned with my issue. No one expects to get sick but when you do you expect the doctors to provide a service that they committed to provide. A group that did not provide care outside of their daily schedule, no emergency hours available.

The appointment and doctor were great, however the front desk woman gave expired contacts samples to use... I think 2015 as an expiration year should be something to remove from the free sample selection, so customers don't have problems. Maybe I'm wrong.
