Doctor Major can check your eyes and see most things going on in your body. She is an excellent doctor. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
If I could give ZERO or negative stars then I certainly would. The negative reviews on here are all TRUE and very accurate. I should've listened to them but I didn't and consequently I had one of the worse experiences in my life while doing business with Eye Innovations. To be fair the doctor is a very good doctor but she's a terrible business person in my opinion. I should've ran when she didn't want to submit the paperwork to my insurance company for my medically necessary contact lenses. I should've ran when she suggested I pay out of pocket and try to get reimbursed by my insurance company when she's the provider who accepts my insurance.
She's very cash hungry and I should've ran when she billed me in excess of what my insurance paid her and still didn't deliver my medically necessary contact lenses that my insurance covered 100% of the costs. I had an exam then was fitted in October of 2024 for medically necessary contact lenses, my insurance company remitted payment to her for my contact lenses in January 2025. She's very arrogant, claimed that she never received the payment which I know for a fact is not true. The payment from my benefit was applied to her negative balance that she owes my insurance company for an unrelated matter. And if my insurance company had not retracted the benefit payment that was applied to her negative account balance I was prepared to tske further action to recover my benefit payment. She knows she has a negative balance and issues with this particular insurance company, she should've just been forthcoming and told me intially to go elsewhere to use my benefit and not drag me into her mess but again her arrogance wouldn't allow her to just be honest. I literally have been fighting with my insurance company to retract back the benefit payment so I can go elsewhere and use it. Finally the insurance company retracted the payment from her account and has credited my benefit back to me so that I can go elsewhere meanwhile almost 10 months have gone by and I haven't received the medically necessary contacts that I came to her for. I can't help to wonder what kind of doctor does this to a patient? The lesson learned here is if you have insurance that covers you 100% and the eye doctor is making up prices, trying to charge you out of pocket then you should be VERY CONCERNED at this point.
You have been warned NOT to patronize this business!!!
If I could give zero stars, I would.
I started going to eye innovations several months ago, and with each visit the wait time was very long. As a patient person, I decided to not let this sway me from further appointments. The optometrist was nice, and very informative. I subsequently purchased glasses through this location. My insurance covered most of the cost, But I came to realize that I want a second pair in case of emergency, and a pair of sunglasses, since I have to wear them all the time. When I called to request my pupillary distance, they claim that it is different for every pair of glasses. When I did some research, I noticed that this is common for optometrist to claim, because they do not want you to buy glasses through cheaper vendors. When I called back and asked for the pupillary distance for the glasses that I'm wearing (the glasses that I purchased from them) they claimed that they do not have it written down. I inquired that there has to be some type of receipt, since they had to order these glasses, and she said that they do not have any saved info on the measurement I needed. Ultimately, when I expressed doubt in her honesty, she hung up on me. In PA, optometrists are not required to provide this measurement, and I also am not required to patronize this business. Therefore, I will find another eye doctor.
This has been my doctor for years. Dr Major is a intelligent, Capable ,Caring, pulchritudinous sister. She articulates whats happening very claerly and concisely. Makes it easy to understand the different medical jargon and is honest. I wont be going to another eye doctor.
If I could give no stars I would ... from the exam to the front desk service to the billing practice... to over 5 weeks waiting period to receive my glasses. Best part is i have 2 vision plan coverage one is accepted there with great coverage, my medical insurance is billed and I receive a bill for almost 200 when I walked out and paid 98 for my glasses already .... kicker is i have a secondary medical insurance also ...
I needed to call and explain how to bill my secondary insurance (both Personal Choice). I called my vision plan to confirm what was covered and they never received a bill from Eye Innovation... all I wanted was an eye exam for my glasses ... not every exam under the sun in order for their company to make more company.....sounds a little fishy to me ....insurance fraud ????
Do no go here with good insurance... no insurance... it isnt worth the headache.... your vision isn't a concern they just want dollar signs and will order any and every exam needed to get it!
I went for service on 11/16/2024 for my son. A vision exam is FULLY covered on my insurance with $0 copay.
Because I saw other complaints on Google that this provider tries to submit unauthorized charges, I even made written notes on all of my forms saying that I only consented to what was covered fully under the vision plan. Before I left, I confirmed that my balance was $0.
However, I just received a bill in the mail for $68 for something called "Fit & Follow-Up Premium." I did NOT purchase glasses from this provider because their prices were outrageous, so how exactly do they feel entitled to charge a "Fit & Follow-Up Premium." NO glasses were fitted. There was NO follow-up. What kind of scam is this?
They also wouldn't provide the PD (pupillary distance) either, so I paid out of pocket at another provider to obtain this. This is absolutely unacceptable business practices. I left a message to complain with the provider. I hope to hear back soon. I will update the review if they correct this error and confirm it was an innocent billing mistake. If not, I will be reporting them to insurance because this is fraud. You cannot fit glasses that aren't purchased.
Dr. Major and staff are exceptional. I first met Dr. Major during an emergency eye appointment over the summer. She accepted me at the last minute and help minimize additional damage to my eye. I followed up a few months later for my annual exam and she was very thorough. I also took my daughter for her annual exam. Dr. Major took the time to explain the testing as well as the results. She's very personable and patient. Visiting her office has been an enjoyable and warm experience which is felt from the moment you enter the office. Thank you and continue doing an amazing job! My family appreciates you.
Before my visit, I hadn't been to an eye doctor in about 4 and a half years. My experience here way surpasses any other experience I had with previous eye doctors. The receptionist were pleasant and helped me with everything I needed to take care of and Dr. Major was great. Great personality and very in depth with my eye condition. She made sure all my eye needs were taken care of before I left her office! Overall great experience.
