If you're looking for an eye doctor who truly communicates with their patients, I highly recommend Dr. Jessica Ammous. She was professional and welcoming. I really appreciated how she explained everything she was doing; it made the whole visit feel easy and stress-free. Lisa, the tech, was also great! Overall, a very pleasant experience...I'd recommend this practice to anyone.

This review is for the Optical Effects eye glass store on the second floor. There is only one person that mans the store, and she also covers the store in Bethlehem, so she is not there every day. If you do manage to be there when she is, she gives great service if you are an elderly white person! If you are Asian or African American I would suggest you look elsewhere. But don't ask for the prices of the glasses. As they say, "If you have to ask, you can't afford it". They took the prices off all the frames. They also got rid of the inexpensive frames. The cheapest frames they have on display are well over $150 (for the frames only!). They can special order frames online (and probably have less expensive frames inside). But don't bother asking unless you are of pale complexion. For the African Americans and Asians that are looking to buy, should expect to make several visits before you actually get your glasses. All part of the "service" you should expect.

What a complete waste of my time. Schedulded an appointment for a year exam, showed up and the doctor looked at me like I had ten heads when I asked if I was going to get examined for glasses. Got a sad excuse of an exam, and when asked how I obtain glasses was sent into a small corner room, with a miserable woman. Glasses selection is beyond pathetic and they aren't able to order anything different.

I decided to visit this office since my obgyn is right next door. I went into the office to first verify if they excepted my and insurance and what my copay would be. The young lady at the desk said yes we take you insurance and you pay $25 plus in addition your contact exam. Not only did they take a long time to call me back they insisted I get my eyes dilated. The opt tech did primarily all the work eye doctor just checked the original RX I had and nothing had changed. The visit with him took less than 10 minutes and waited for him for about 1 hours. Now I received a bill in the mail for $325 This bill is an error from the office. I went in for a regular schedule routine eye exam with additional contact prescription. I paid what the insurance required me to $25 plus the additional contact eye exam. I don't know where this medical bill is coming from since the only thing I did was have my eye dilated. Is this $325 for a dilation?? I went to the office they had no idea how to explain this bill to me all they said the insurance didn't pay. I called my insurance and they said all I had to pay for the discount of the $25. This was probably a coding error in the office. I did not have any medical done during my appointment. I had the refraction, confrontations, dilation, auto refraction and eye air pressure. These are all things done in a regular eye exam. Which I know because I've worked for an eye doctor for more than 6 years. This issue needs to be corrected because I am not responsible for this bill.I will no longer be using this office for my routine eye exams. I am beyond disappointed and frustrated. Update when into the office two days and no one again could explain to me the charges. I have yet to hear any response from this office as they were suppose to have billing and the high up take a look.

This place is a complete joke. The staff is incredibly rude. After waiting an excessive amount of time to be called back an ancient staff member did most of the exam. It should be noted that all instruments were filthy. I refused dilation and was given yellow eye drops with zero explanation from the ancient staff member. Not only did these drops cause discomfort they caused a significant amount of post nasal drip. After this poor quality exam I was placed in yet another waiting area with 10 other individuals. Almost all adult patients were complaining about the wait time. I am not at this appointment for a routine exam/contacts/glasses. What a complete waste of time and lack of consideration for working individuals. Be warned, this place sucks! Do not come here if you have an eye issue or expect to be treated well. $40 co pay out the window.

Melissa of the Optical Effects Center at this Fogelsville Office location gets 5 stars from me; if possible, I would give more. Her knowledge, expertise and skills in eyecare is wonderful. I have been suffering with an eye issue for several years; I have seen several optometrists doctors and they weren't able to identify the cause and help. Melissa listened and gave great guidance and advice to me; and, helped me find an Optician specializing in the double vision issue I was experiencing while also helping me select a great frame. I now have a new corrective prescription and new glasses. I can see so much better. Thank you Melissa. My recommendation to those looking for new glasses and great guidance stop in and ask to see Melissa; you won't be disappointed. She takes great care in meeting the needs of those who come to her department.

This is the worst run office EVER. Why do you ALWAYS have to wait at least half an hour past your appt time to even be called to the back. Then the waiting just continues in small waiting areas in the back. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE! Here we are again..... Waiting and waiting and waiting. They have the nerve to say " you will have to wait 15-20 minutes for your eyes to fully dilated" and then keep you waiting for over 2 hours to see the doctor for 5 minutes. Absolutely terrible!!!

This place is unprofessional. I was an assault victim. My eye was damaged. I called this office explaining my situation. Nurse Carly said the provider (eye dr) said to go to the e.r I explained I was at an e.r twice and discharged. I went to my family dr the next day. He also said I need an eye dr not an er. So I had my dr call over to this office explaining he saw my eye and I need an eye dr. I have a referral. My dr called me back saying they talked to a nurse and we're calling to set up an appointment. I get a phone call. It starts like this can I please speak w Courtney. This is her. Why did you have your provider call here when I told you to go to an e.r yesterday? And once again I explained the situation and she said idc the eye dr said to go to the er. I said which er has a eye dr there. She said go to cedar crest and they'll call an eye dr in. Funny cedar crest discharged me and I explained this. Without seeing my eye and another doctor who saw my eye said I need an eye doctor. This doctor decided to say he won't make an appointment w me then it turned into we don't have appointments. We'll if they never had appointments why wasn't that stated from the beginning? Rude. Disrespectful. Unprofessional. Does not care about people's health Adding onto this review. After I left this review and emailed the ceo Brian Nestor about this offices behavior towards patients did I receive a phone call back about making an appointment and guess when they could get me in? Nov 8th. So much for not having appointments. I called a different eye dr. And made an appointment with their office. Dr Saad making medical decisions for a person she never met via nurse Carly being the messenger is literally unfathomable. The way this office talked to me is despicable. Nurse Carly wrote a false narrative in my chart. Brian Nestor needs to investigate this office.
