Suburban Eye Associates

Have been going to Suburban Eye off and on for over a decade. Service has been solid until the last several years. There has been a noticeable decline in service over my past several visits culminating in my latest experience which was not up to proper clinical standards. The visit began by the provider asking me why I was there when she herself had requested I follow up with her regarding a previous injury. She did not seem to be referring to notes from my previous visit. The exam proceeded including dilation and I had an eye test with various lenses. The provider concluded I required the same prescription as last visit and no adjustments were required. She then referred me to another clinic physician for a problem she identified. The provider also commented that my glasses weren't in good shape. Fast forward to two weeks later when I went for eyeglasses. I called Suburban to have script sent to Eyeglass company. I was advised the physician would have to write a new one even though the script hadn't changed. Nothing could be done till the next day. Ok so far. The next day arrives and I'm advised the Suburban provider can't write a script without a new exam. What???? Another exam? I was told Suburban didn't bill the first exam because nothing changed do so the provider couldn't generate a script. What? Illogical. Suburban reiterated there would be no script without another billable exam even though I just had an exam and nothing changed. What??? Not going back. Insane. Just made an appointment at Visionworks where I will get my eyeglasses. Visionworks has been very helpful. Looking back, I think Suburban also referred me for services I didn't need like advanced glaucoma screening. Disgruntled. Beware. Stuart Skinner.

Total rip-off! My son was referred to Taefer Optical for cataract surgery. When I went to schedule the appointment, we were told to we had to go to the Philadelphia location for an extensive eye exam. After completing the exam, we were told we had to go to the Hunting Valley location since the Philadelphia location did not have all of the equipment needed to perform a "comprehensive" assessment. In both situations, I had to pay my copay. The first appointment was totally unnecessary and I should have just gone to Hunting Valley in the first place. I was told he needed to complete a standardized physical. I took him to urgent care as his primary is in New York. I was then told he would have to wait as the completion was not acceptable. I asked what on their form required information from a pcp. The receptionist could not explain. I then asked for a copy of medical records and they stated it would be $25. Additionally the receptionist at the Hunting Valley location was rude and unprofessional. Won't recommend this facility ever!

Becareful using this establishment . If I could give them zero stars I would. My wife took her elderly parents for an eye exam and had a horrible experience. A few days ago we called the receptionist to make sure that they took the insurance and they said they did . So once arriving we handed insurance to receptionist and waited 20 minutes to be seen. Both parents were taken back and had a good experience with doctor . However once coming back out to receptionist we were told copay was 20 dollars . While my father in law was taking out money she was told it's actually 25 dollars . Then the receptionist said they weren't covered and it would be 65 dollars per person. When my wife questioned it she claimed that they weren't covered from vision insurance but only health insurance. Although this was never mentioned during the phonecall as well as once arriving. When inquiring further cause something didn't seem right they told her the parents should of called their own insurance. She asked them is this something they do to each patient because it's wrong. You should all be careful going there as it seems there's a lack of professionalism from the receptionist and unwillingness to do their jobs so their patients don't get put in these predicaments.

My wife woke up sick and called to cancel her appointment tent with Dr Chaudry. She was told she would be charged $25 for not coming in but could reschedule. And still be charged for being sick. 'That's policy - automatic - can't help.' Were replies. Now we have our own new policy about Suburban eye.

During the last year, my eyesight worsened dramatically and my glasses were no longer working for me. It was quite concerning but when I went to see Dr. Yelena Fishman, she found that I had cataracts and got me set up for surgery to correct the issue. She was the best guide through the process, she was calming and informative, and made me feel extremely comfortable and confident about the surgery. Both surgeries went smoothly and delivered remarkable results. I couldn't be happier with the care and service I received and would recommend Suburban Eye Associates / Dr. Fishman to anyone! I can see perfectly now and it feels amazing!

I've had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Fishman and am pleased to bring my daughter for her eye care as well. At each appointment I am greeted in a professional and friendly manner. My time spent in the exam room with Dr. Fishman is thorough and informative. I leave knowing I have had a valuable eye exam and I know my child's developing eyes are receiving the care they need. When I was having difficulty with my eyes due to an infection, Dr. Fishman quickly and efficiently diagnosed and treated the infection. Very happy to be a patient here and will be continuing to use this practice for many years to come.

It is difficult to explain how lucky i feel to have received care from Dr. Fishman. I am getting older, my prescription is tricky, i have had bad experience with eye doctors in the past, and my vision is worsening (both up close and for distance). I was very scared what was happening and cd not trust the advice i got elsewhere. I went to dr. Fishman who recommended i change my contact brand and tweaked the prescription on my contacts and my glasses. I think she was more concerned about hiw the new glasses and contacts were going than i was! Anyway, she found the exact right balance for me, forced me (nicely) to go see an allergist and now this thing i was so worried about i dont even have to think of it. So if u r looking for someone compassionate who really cares about the results u get and is not just treating u like a number, i cd not recommend Dr. Fishman more highly. She is a gem!

I've been seeing Dr. Fishman for my routine eye care and glasses for a few years now. Last year, she told me I needed cataract surgery, which made me a bit nervous. However, everyone at the office was super sweet and now that I've had both eyes done by Dr. Chaudhry and no longer need glasses I have to openly rave about my experience there! Being told that I needed surgery is not fun, but everyone made it as comfortable as possible for me!
