Eye Associates Never answers the phone. It is always a recording that gives the option to leave your name and number for a return call. The return call Never comes. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because I like the eye doctors.
I addition, their lenses and frame costs are extremely high. I am looking for a new eye care provider.
The optical portion of the business used to be really good, but the service has been lacking the past year. I ordered a pair of prescription sunglass lenses which cost $540.00, but I could not see well and was told I would get used to them, but didn't. Come to find-out they didn't put the progressive portion across the lenses. So I had to wait for them to be made again.
Also, I have been trying to pickup my prescription glasses, I stopped by 3 times no optician on-site. I asked for them to be sent to the Community Way office. I have called several times and got voicemail. I am done with this practice I am going somewhere else.
I think the providers are great - the scheduling staff however needs some work. Twice in the last 3 weeks, my appointment was changed without notifying me so I took time off of work and showed up at the appointed time. Both times, the front desk person said we called you and left a message. I would agree that I could have missed one message but not two. Your phone registers all calls and I didn't get a call either time but because someone documented it on my record - too bad. Today's appointment is the one I was rescheduled for the first time they said we tried to call you. Who is going to reimburse me for time off with no appointment and now I have to take additional time off. This is not professional or keeping patient needs at the forefront. There was no effort at the front desk to even try to accommodate me in this situation. I am left with the attitude of sorry/ not sorry.
Also, I came in for a contact lens fitting and Dr Walker ordered trial lens for me which were supposed to be in by now. My guess is that they are in and someone wrote in my file that they called but they did not, so once again - the patient will be wrong.
Went in for a last minute appointment for a bad stye. The front office staff and billing people were lovely. The doctor and office manager, not so much.
They were able to get me in promptly. But when I gave my insurance cards, they said it was a medical visit and not optical (which most medical insurances don't cover eyes, so I didn't get why it wasn't under vision).
I got in and was seen by a doctor, but he barely gave me his attention. He looked at my eyes briefly and prescribed me some eye drops, but he would barely look me in the eyes to talk to me and was trying to get out the door as fast as he could. He was dismissive when I asked any questions and I felt so blown off, like he was more concerned with getting out to lunch instead of giving me 5 minutes for my visit.
A week or so later, we got a bill for the remaining balance of my visit because no one could explain why it was medical and not vision. I was told (by billing) to contact the office manager, Jeff, to ask him if we could cancel out the remaining $30 I was being billed for (since my copay was already $70), and I tried calling for a week and could not get him to return a call. Not once! He was around the office, plenty of people could see him and left messages to contact (on top of my daily VM's), but he refused to speak with me for whatever reason.
In the end, the very kind woman in billing (Tracy) called me to let me know they approved dissolving the last of the bill. But I definitely won't be going back there for any future services.
Worst place ever. Takes 30 minutes to get someone on the phone. Then it takes another 20 minutes for that person to answer your question. It has been over a month since seen by the Doctor and I'm still waiting on my trial contacts. They Finally call a month and a half later to tell me the contacts are in, but I have to schedule an appointment for the doctor to see them in my eye.... Only worthless place in the world that serves the public but is not open on Saturday at least. Then Michelle got the nerve to tell me most eye doctor offices are usually closed on Saturday. I'm 41 years old and been wearing corrective vision since I was 10 with a working single mother who couldn't just take off during the week to see no eye doctor so I was seen mostly on Saturdays, in Texas, Colorado, Missouri and here in Pennsylvania. Now I know why I could get an appointment so soon with this place. All the good place are booked 1-2 months out to avoid this nightmare. Your Welcome Ill take my money elsewhere.
So Unprofessional i set appointment for the earliest date i could get for work purposes which was 3 and a half weeks out between both lancaster locations. So i have to take off work due the day and time of appointment. 2 hour before my appointment I get a text message and automatic call saying they have reschedule my appointment and to call to reschedule. I call and sit hold for half an hour before being forced to leave a voice mail. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Had a problem with bad floaters. Dr. Landis was able to get me in that day, determine that the issue was retinal and refer me to a retina specialist. Several months after the retinal surgery I was able to have my cataract procedure done by Dr. Landis. He was professional through and through and took the time to personally call me post-op and check on me.
In addition, he determined that I did not need my other eye done and called me to discuss. He also listened to my concerns and as a result, I'm very happy and can see better than I have in 40 years.
I highly recommend Dr. Landis and the staff at this location have been super easy to deal with.
Dr Wei is an excellent eye doctor...I have gone to him for about a decade...he has seen me through cataract surgery, glaucoma monitoring etc He has treated me for various eye irritations, and is very accommodating. The new offices on Community Way are lovely . I highly recommend Dr Wei!
