I called Eye Consultants to schedule an appointment and unfortunately had a very negative interaction with the receptionist who answered the phone. She was extremely rude, short, and dismissive throughout the conversation, which made the process uncomfortable and unprofessional. There was no courtesy, patience, or willingness to assist, which is concerning for the first point of contact at a medical office.
I want to be clear that I am not speaking negatively about the doctors or the quality of care provided by the practice. My concern is strictly with the receptionist and scheduling department. I've also had family members who experienced the same rude and unhelpful behavior when calling, so it appears to be a recurring issue rather than a one-time situation.
The professionalism of the front desk sets the tone for the entire patient experience, and this is an area that truly needs improvement. I hope the office takes this feedback seriously and addresses the conduct of the staff handling patient communication.

My whole family goes here but I don't think I've ever had an appointment that was less than 2 hours. Sometimes 3. Usually it's an hour or more wait past your appointment time. I guess our time isn't as valuable.

Do NOT go here. My grandmother has been having issues with eye pain and watering in one eye since the beginning of 2024. Multiple doctors at this practice dismissed her - said it was an inflamed eye lid and sent her home with steroid drops and told to put a warm compress on her eye. Most doctors tried to leave the room without answering any of our questions. Terrible bedside manner.
After multiple visits and her eye worsening to the point she couldn't open it, we seeked a second opinion. Turns out she has an ULCERATED CORNEA that has been going on for months because of how deep it is. It's going to take weeks to heal and if the treatment doesn't work she will need surgery. I recommend Pottsville Eye Specialists. Attentive care with thorough explanations.

Whole family goes here. We absolutely love it. they are caring and organized. They give you proper care and thorough examinations.
My daughter has been a patient since she was 3 years old. the doctors are caring and courteous especially as I advocate for her and her care.
I recommend going here, they have the best selection of glasses with brand names, professional doctors, and knowledgeable staff.

My daughter has been going here for a couple years and just recently had retina detachment surgery and now has to be checked every 6 mths! Today they refused to see her for her follow up because she owed money! How is this legal?? I thought anybody in the medical field can't refuse service! I see they care more about money than they do their patients! Time to look for new place! I see why they only have a 3.7 rating, it should be lower

Great experience. Friendly, professional staff. I was slightly late for my appointment and they were very understanding. My exam was very thorough. I was seeing Dr.Altman regarding cataracts and he was very honest and said I did not need surgery at this time. But when the time comes I will definitely go back to Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania
