I cannot say enough good things about this place. Yes, you will have to wait longer, but in my opinion the care is absolutely worth it. I have already had three surgeries here. After a heavy concern in my change of vision, I was recommended to go here. Turns out, I have retinal detachment issues and retinopathy. Two retinal reattachment surgeries, one cataract and a YAG cap surgery so far and they are incredibly great at what they do. Dr. Thierry Verstraeten was amazing, great bedside manner and helped with every little concern I had. Informative, to the point, and very friendly. It makes sense why they have such long wait times, it's because of how good they are. Really great specialists here.

Can't say enough good things about this eye center. I had cataract surgery in both eyes in January and February 2026. The surgeon Dr. Davis and the whole staff were absolutely amazing. I want to thank them all for the wonderful care I received and for my vision improved so much.

The wait is long for appts. Today boyfriend had cataract surgery. They said 2n half hours,so I was going to just go home. The nurse with a attitude said no u have to wait. I explained my situation they didnt care even when we got here I was going to stay in waiting room by door n was still told no because I just got of hospital myself. Then came the big thing ,was when another pati patient there coffee n donuts in the waiting room by door.

I always arrive promptly on time for my appointment and wait 30-45 minutes to be seen. Additionally, their billing system is antiquated and you need to call in to provide a credit card or send in a check in the snail mail. Didn't know it was 1990. Unacceptable in the digital age.

Would not rec going to Southwestern PA Eye Center with Pieramici. I decided to go here because my whole family goes here and they are statistically low when it comes to under correcting eyes for lasik. Anyways, my eyes were highly under corrected by -1.00. The day of the procedure, nurses had to numb my eyes twice before the procedure started because they were waiting on the MD. Pretty sure I felt more than I was suppose to. I can't drive at night because the glare in the road is too bad, now have dry eye and light sensitivity. It feels like there is sand in my eyes if I don't use the drops. My last follow up appt, he cancelled, again. When it was rescheduled, I was seen by a MD I've never met before. Had to get glasses to drive at night and my prescription eye drops are $90. More harm to my eyes was actually caused by this procedure. The office didn't offer to pay for glasses or drops or even offer an apology. However, they did say that my eyes were way UNDER CORRECTED.

My father had his cataract surgery done here. The wait times are terrible. The first surgery was a nightmare. He could not see after he got his first eye done. They said not to worry that it would clear up after 4 hours. It didn't. Then they told him that his left eye was a lazy eye and that is why it was blurry. So he went and got his second eye done. It is blurry too. After he got both eyes done they said that this sometimes happens and they have to "clear the lenses" because there can be a fog that can go over them that cause the blurriness. After this surgery he called me and told me one eye hurt so bad that he couldn't sleep. I called the office for an appointment. They said he was just seen a few days before. I had to agrue with them and fight to get an appointment. Finally, they gave me one. Turns out he had a viral infection in his eye. He had to wait 4 months to get the lenses cleared. He also had to pay another co-pay. This was also 2 different surgeries. One eye at a time. That didn't work either. His eyes are still blurry. He would see better before he went here. He now has to use a magnifying glass to read to paper and other small print things. He spent a lot of money of co-pays, surgeries, eye drops, amd medicines. The only good thing is he really liked the doctor. She had a great personality and he had nothing but great things to say about her. However, his vision is worse now than before we walked in there the first time. I will update if we can figure out a solution.

Absolutely horrible. I had a diabetic eye exam scheduled for 3:00. Just before 4 they inserted eye drops and told me to wait in the waiting room for my eyes to dilate. Half an hour later I approached the desk to ask why I was still waiting. They told me that first-time patients have a two to three hour wait. I left as I had to be somewhere else 2 hours after my appointment and hadn't blocked off an entire day in my schedule just for a single eye exam. For now on I will go somewhere that has respect for patients' time.

I have been going here for several years to have my yearly diabetic eye test done. Throughout the years my appointments have lasted 4+ hrs. Waiting in the waiting room and 20 minutes actually being seen by the doctors. This year I had an appointment on 2/27/17 that got cancelled by them because of a scheduling conflict and rescheduled for 3/9/17 until I got the call today that my 2nd. Appointment would have to be rescheduled again due to the doctors scheduling conflict.....Needless to say getting time off work isn't the easiest but when you have to keep changing it you realize this office isn't for the working man so I'll be pulling my files n moving on.they are great doctors but plain to see that they are there for the $$$ NOT THE PATIENTS !!!!!!
