Pediatric Ophthalmology

I had a very poor experience here and would never go back. For the first appointment, the doctor was not confident enough as to whether my daughter was experiencing a certain issue. She asked my husband and I if we could see it while she was evaluating her. We are not ophthalmologists and brought her to be assessed by a professional. I do not feel it was appropriate for her to ask us this - we did not go to ophthalmology school. She then said she was not sure whether my daughter was experiencing this issue or not and that we would need to come back the following week for another appointment. We went back for an appointment this week and they had us wait (mind you we have an infant) for over an hour and 20 minutes without seeing any doctor. We told the office staff multiple times that she needed to be seen and they could not care less. Very unprofessional. We ended up having to leave. I would not go to this practice again if it were the last in the area.

I just took my 3 year old here on this past Thursday the 27th. At first she was cooperating with the technician before the doctor came in. After a few minutes she started having a fit and her sister and I stepped out of the room. I ended up calling my sitter to come and help calm her down. She came and went back into the room with her to help the doctor finish the examination. Once it was over, my daughter and her sitter came out of the room and I was told the appointment was over and she told me what the doctor said. Not once did the doctor try to ask for me to come back in to get the results. I had her sister with me and I needed some help. I never said it was ok to give the sitter the results. I hope they read this and understand that without my consent they had no right to disclose any information to her sitter. Yes the sitter was helpful but is not her parent I am. Just because I had someone go back for support doesn't mean I gave consent to get the results. As for the receptionist, she was very rude. If I'm standing outside the room waiting on the doctor to finish his exam, do not tell me to go out in the waiting room when my child is in the room with the doctor.

I waited over 8 months for an appointment which was scheduled at the Washington office. When I got the confirmation it stated my appointment was in Murraysville. When I called to inquire I was told that my appointment had been accidentally scheduled in Murraysville (no where close to my home) and that if I chose to cancel I would have to wait until after October for an appointment. The woman on the phone said the person that had scheduled me must have been "fairly new" and unfortunately there was nothing she could do to help. I also had to request the paperwork be sent to me as the person who schedule me forgot to do so. I guess I should have taken that as a sign I should have gone elsewhere. Glad I waited 8+ months to not be seen. I will be seeking services elsewhere.

I took my son for his first eye exam today at the Washington location. After being there I am shocked by some of the negative reviews saying that the staff was rude. My son was nervous and the nurse was so incredibly kind and reassuring with him. Dr. Pav was also wonderful. He was not rushed at all, asked my son all about his hobbies and interests and joked around with him the entire time which helped put him at ease. It was a great first experience and I would recommend this office to anyone!

If I could give no stars, I would. The staff is extremely rude. It's supposed to be a children's eyeglass place and they are very rude to the children. The ophthalmologist I saw with my child told me that he had an astigmatism. I brought him there since he was three and I finally switched to the eye clinic in Pittsburgh thru Children's Hospital. My son's eyes constantly are going up and down and they tried telling me he had an astigmatism When I personally have an astigmatism and my eyes don't do that. I was told that I am over worrying as a mother and they know what they're doing because it's their specialty. Fast forward to almost 3 years of going(he's went since he was 3 and his about to be 6) I decided to bring my child to a different doctor and he actually has nystagmus!! He may actually need surgery and he has to have further testing to see how bad it is. A true doctor listens to the patients or the patient's parents. The parents are with the child every day versus 20 minutes twice a year.

Called today and thought the receptionist was so rude. I get you don't take an insurance (totally not the issue- not every place takes every insurance) but when the customer on the line is saying we just moved here and don't know where anything is, can you please recommend another place for me to call and the answer is "no goodbye" it is very off putting. Our pediatrician recommended them, I can for sure say our feedback to our pediatrician will be to not recommend them in the future, any office that treats an adult like that has I business treating children. 0/10 recommended.

Dr. Eric was amazing. The entire office staff was great with my two year old daughter. From the wonderful woman at the desk, to the assistant who helped the doctor, to the woman who read her prescription. These people were made to work with children and also make a paranoid and worried mom feel comfortable. The woman at the desk even put on Winnie the Pooh while we waited for the drops to work. They explained everything they were doing it what it meant from insurance and billing, to tests and diagnostics. I cannot recommend them enough!

The staff is next to useless and act as if they have never had a child patient at their pediatric office. Talking to them during our last visit was less than pleasant but my daughter needed glasses. I called to schedule my daughters annual exam and they told me I had a balance when I paid for everything when I was in there and never in the past year received a bill. The poorly trained receptionist had no patience and accused me of cursing at her then transfered me to billing which was just a voice-mail. When I called back they refused to answer, I know this because as soon as I called from a blocked number the answered on the first ring.I can't say I'm surprised that this establishment only has 2.6 stars and all the reviews mention rude staff. I'm currently requesting medical history release document and leaving this poor excuse of a practice.
