Walmart Vision & Glasses

The worst glasses I have ever purchased, even with all the lens upgrades! I had never bought glasses at Walmart before, but decided to give it a try. I ended up spending over $700. I ordered all the extra lens options: scratch guard, anti-glare, blue light protection, etc. like I normally do. I also bought a warranty for replacement in case anything happened to them within the first year. I am meticulous about caring for my glasses and in the 25 years I've worn glasses, I NEVER had to take a pair back because of scratching. It's now a year later and I needed to get BOTH LENSES REPLACED THREE TIMES because they scratched so badly. It almost seems like they didn't even bother putting scratch resistant coating on them because of the warranty. The last time I went in due to scratched lenses, they said the warranty had run out a couple days prior. I had just gotten the lenses replaced about a month before that! And each time I had to get them replaced, I went without my glasses for over a week. I will absolutely never buy glasses from Walmart optical again. The QUALITY IS TERRIBLE even with all the lens upgrades. Previously I have purchased very inexpensive glasses online and they were much, much better quality than the ones I purchased from Walmart Optical at a significantly higher price.

Prices were great and my glasses and sunglasses fit perfectly! I have to give a shout out to Dee who helped me pick them out and she was wonderful! I would definitely come back here again for my prescription glasses.

Just went here with my family to get eye exams and new glasses. I was very skeptical about what to expect having my eye exam done at a place that also sells groceries, auto parts and garden supplies. However I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was quite the contrary from what I thought my experience would be. The employees of the Walmart Vision Center were very professional and did their job's with great enthusiasm. I wanted to get new glasses and new lenses but not right away. The problem for me was that one of the lenses in my current glasses kept falling out everytime I cleaned them so one of the technicians thoroughly cleaned my glasses and repaired them for me. Now because of that I can continue to wear them until I get new glasses. As it turns out my son needs glasses as well and the technician assisted us with making sure all of the insurance information was correct and helped him pick out a good pair for his first glasses. My wife wanted to transition from glasses to contacts so her eye exam took a little longer but she said that the optometrist was very helpful with getting her what she needed. She was happy with them at first but it didn't last long because she kept on losing them and they were irritating her eyes. She called the vision center yesterday and explained to them that contacts just weren't for her and that she was just going to get glasses instead and wanted to get new lenses put into her old frames. They were very understanding and told her that was fine and she's going back when we take our son in to get his new glasses. Thank you Walmart Vision Center for providing 5 star service just by being the professional people that you are and changing my opinion about your establishment. When it comes time for us to get eye exams and new glasses again we will be back.

The staff was friendly and the optometrist seemed to give me a thorough eye exam, but when I had progressive glasses made (elsewhere) I had problems with them. Distance was clear but near and mid distance was blurry. The reading glasses were blurry too. It seemed like an issue with the prescription but I took the glasses back to the optical center where I bought them and had them checked, they verified that the glasses were made correctly per the prescription I got at Walmart. I went back to Walmart and explained the issue, the optometrist verified that the prescription was correct via the machine in the office, but wouldn't look at how I could see thru the glasses. He told me that they needed to be remeasured where I bought them. That might explain the progressives but the reading glasses were also blurry. I did go back to the optical center where I had the glasses made and they told me they couldn't move the focal point for near distance, or it would mess up far distance. So at this point I had 3 pair of new glasses that I couldn't use. I was forced to pay for another eye exam and optometrist #2 told me that the prescription from Walmart was way overpower for me. Not only didn't I need it, but it was such a strong prescription that it would require a stronger near distance prescription to compensate. She demonstrated by having me hold .25 and .50 lenses over my glasses, which corrected near distance. I got a new prescription that was scaled way back from what I had received at Walmart, had to order all new glasses, and can finally see again. I felt that Dr Knapp was dismissive of my concerns when I went to my second appointment. He said something along the lines of "this is what happens when you have glasses made online", but I hadn't bought them online, just at another optical center. I had planned to buy progressives at Walmart until they told me that lenses started at $390. I definitely won't be going back to this optical center. The prescription I got here was a big change from my previous prescriptions, which I thought was odd because my vision hadn't changed drastically. It bumped me into a higher index progressive (1.67 vs 1.6) that had to be special ordered. The prescription I ended up with at Optometrist #2 is much closer to the prescriptions I've had the last several years. If I didn't have the means of paying for the second eye exam I'm not sure what I would have done, returned all 3 pairs of glasses I guess and just dealt with my old ones.

Bought 3 pairs of glasses a year ago. 2 of them lost screws, took them back to get repaired. They cleaned them and scratched them, to the point where you can't see out of them. One of the sides fell off and took them back to repair. 7/5/2025. All the girl (with black hair) was interested in telling me they were not under warranty. Not interested in fixing them. I would have been willing to pay to have them fixed. I will never go back there.

Optician Dee was amazing and kind and helped me pick out which glasses fit my head and made me look the best she was very helpful i would give more then 5 stars if i could.

Brought my sons in for contact fittings and Dr. Knapp is the best teacher! My youngest even got em' in on the first try! Great service as well!

I'm always so happy with my service here. Doctor Knapp and his team are friendly and helpful. Trisha helped me order contacts and a new pair of glasses and was great to work with. She made the experience easy and fun!
