Family Vision Care - Wexford

Steer clear of here if you are a parent - not family-friendly or accommodating. I had to tote my infant and 3 year old here for my eye appointment after my childcare fell through for the morning. I arrived 10 minutes early to get settled and checked in, then spent another 15 minutes waiting for the doctor. When I stepped out to see what was going on, the receptionist told me that the Dr cannot see me because my son (who is NOT sick) coughed one time. As anyone who is a parent of young kids knows, kids cough even when they are not sick especially during fluctuating temperatures and humidity in the winter (and when waiting in a rather dusty medical office for a period of time). They were very cold and unfriendly to me about it. I had to shamefully pack up my kids and leave with tears in my eyes. They offered no help or assistance to me with my stroller either as I struggled to exit the front door. They offered to reschedule me but I declined.

Best eye doctor experience I've ever had! Everyone was so nice!! I was going to a chain before this, and they messed my prescription up badly, to the point that I went back and paid for a second exam after getting new glasses, and they basically told me that I was wrong and the script didn't change. Miss Jill did a great job with my eye tests (there were 3 different tests, along with PD measurement, and it cost $30), which thankfully didn't include the big puff of air in the eye like at the chain, which I've always had to do over and over, because I would always jolt out of the chair with every puff. Dr. Brandon actually listened to me when I said I had very sensitive eyes, and he empathized with me. I was having an issue with my right eye, and he said, "that right eye is tricky," which made me feel like I wasn't going crazy, like how I felt prior. He said my right eye has been working too hard with too strong of a prescription (from the chain being wrong), and it would take some getting used to. He even ordered an extra test with Miss Jill to get things straight when I wasn't confident in my prescription's changes. I've never experienced that at a chain. He actually listened! I will definitely be going back for my next exam. Dr. Brandon was very knowledgeable, and explained things very well, and when I had (many) questions, he answered them in ways I could easily understand. He was very patient and attentive. Frames were a little more pricey than I expected, but I haven't bought glasses for years, so maybe I just don't remember pricing well. There were a lot of really nice frames there, and Miss Brooke helped me pick out a nice pair after I tried on a few different ones. Those outsider opinions can be very helpful! She went over pricing with me and was very thorough. I was able to get a copy of my prescription to order glasses online, and nobody made me feel uncomfortable about ordering online instead of getting frames in store. I didn't get the names of the two women in the front, but they were also very sweet and a great pair to be greeted by. The woman with the darker hair asked me my preferred pronouns, which felt really nice. A lot of places aren't that inclusive, especially in a medical setting. Everyone was very friendly. I had a great experience! Thank you all so much, please keep up the phenomenal work!

UPDATE: I see your retort. Let me clarify something. I do $10M+ a year in sales. My clients dont communicate well, but when it comes to discounts, corrections to pricing after the fact, I end up waiving fees to do business. Because long-term, I will make more. You saw the short gain of a $30 fee as 'communication error' & scheduling, instead of it as a family of 4 that would spend thousands of $$ over the next 5 years. Whoever is in charge making these decisions should rethink their methods. Its costing them money and will continue to do so. Places like this care ZERO when it comes to customer service. They only care about MONEY. FEES. Got a busy schedule, have to move an appointment, FEES! Boutique shops like this are HOT GARBAGE. Enjoy the $60. Put it to good use.

My whole family has been coming here for years and this practice is fantastic! The doctors are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and the staff are so friendly. I can't recommend this place enough!

I have to say from the time I was in high school I have not liked going to an eye doctor. My daughter recommended Doctor Anne Hein and now Doctor Brandon Homan to me. My eye doctor retired and it was 4 years since I went for an eye check up. I am so thankful she did. I was so impressed with both. Doctor Homan and his staff Betty, Christy and Rachel were all the best. I feel like I have a whole team just for me. I can't express how professional Dr. Homan was. His caring and concern was above and beyond the norm. He took his time to answer all my questions and there were many. I now have my team and I highly recommend them to everyone especially anyone who has a fear of going to an eye doctor. Now, I am looking forward to my next appointment.

I had a great experience at Family Vision Care. The staff was very helpful and professional. Rachel was very friendly and she helped me pick out the perfect frames. She was very knowledgeable and helped me to understand my options when it came to my lenses. All of the staff were very courteous. The doctor took his time to make sure that I understood everything and made sure to answer any of my questions. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who is looking for quality care and a professional atmosphere.
