My daughter was initially a patient of Dr. Schoedel; subsequently, I decided to transfer her care to Dr. Aristimuno, with whom we were delighted. Since Dr. Aristimuno is no longer practicing at the office, I contacted the facility to schedule an appointment with Dr. Schoedel. Due to the limited number of pediatric ophthalmologists in the area, I was informed that a note in the patient's chart indicated a referral elsewhere. When I inquired about the reason, the staff member responded dismissively and unprofessionally, reiterating the note's instructions. I expressed that I preferred not to engage in further discussion, to which she responded similarly. This establishment operates as a professional practice; therefore, its conduct should reflect higher standards of professionalism. The negative reviews are indicative of the staff's genuine demeanor. I appreciate the opportunity to observe the staff's attitude before considering entrusting them with my daughter's medical care again.

The office waiting room is not kid friendly, which is kind of shocking given this is a pediatric office. There are no toys for the children to play with. They have a glass plate with a flower pot on top, and clay pots with flowers all within kids reach. What is my 2 year old supposed to do for a half hour while her eyes dilate?? And the elderly front desk lady had an attitude with my antsy toddler. Other than that the dr was great, and the clinical area is very nice and clean.

My son needed glasses. He felt very welcomed and at ease. The murals on thr walls in the rooms are amazing. Dr. Schoedel was very knowledgeable and patient with my 5 year old. We had a great experience!

Be prepared to wait. Was told 30 mins for dilation and here we continue to sit for over an hour.
This is supposed to be a "pediatric" ophthalmologist and there's nothing for kids here except some murals in the exam rooms. Very frustrating for the children who have to sit 2+ hours at an appointment.

Extremely disrespectful, got mad because my special needs child wouldn't sit in the chair right away at first and wouldn't let them put drops in her eye . Tried to refuse my child her eye exam because she's special needs . Told me my oldest daughter was going blind from her left eye and told me there was nothing they could except give her eye drops then proceeded to never order the prescription no matter how many times I called. Do not recommend at all ! Over all horrible .

My daughter had eye surgery on both eyes and Dr Schoedel told me her eyes looked fine even tho it was stuck in the top corner. Hot a second opinion from Dr Sheibert from Lancaster 2 surgeries later her eyes are great and back to what they were. Im not sure why we even had the initial surgery without doing some patch work it was right to surgery. I will never go back here. The fact that we got completely ignored when I told her her eye was stuck up in the corner and she said it was the glare feom the lighting. No thanks

Staff was very sweet in office. Dr schoedel is not only sweet as well but makes you very comfortable & attentive to her pts. When I got my stabismus surgery I had calls from upmc and Dr schoedel herself to make sure all was alright. Recommend to anyone for eye concerns.
