Bad experience.....was very much looking forward to using Dr. Hartzell again, Always great to see him but unfortunately was treated rudely by staff. I bought a pair of glasses and when wearing I couldn't seem to get them to stay on. I took them back and Jason worked on them to adjust...heating and bending them but when taking home it was similar...I had to constantly adjust them and felt as if left side was above my eyebrow and right jutted out to the point of sunlight shining in my eye. I went back again and was told he was on vacation and planned on waiting til he got back back but received a call from the office letting me know i couldn't return or exchange them. when I mentioned that he assured me that I had 60 days to return the individual said there was no warranty because I used my insurance allowance. When I asked about that she said it's not really a warranty it's just a courtesy to adjust them but 0 returns or exchanges unless they are defective. She seemed very annoyed that I questioned this and I was surprised that as a patient she didn't even offer to let me come in again to have them checked out. My wife was there and she heard the same thing from Jason as I...that I had 60 days. I paid $318 in addition to my insurance allowance and I'm amazed that it was pretty obvious they didn't seem to care that I had a potentially warped pair of glasses (is that a defect?) or even remained a patient.... Beware if they can't make them fit comfortably you may end up with wasting your money on a useless pair of glasses as I did....

I had the best experience with this office! The eye doctor was very friendly and thorough, taking the time to explain everything clearly. All of the staff were especially welcoming and kind, which made the whole visit even better. The office itself was very clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend checking them out for your next eye exam--you won't be disappointed!

Why do I drive 60 miles to see Dr. Hartzell? Because he has the highest regard for my visual health and my overall being. His professional attention to detail and patient interaction is excellent!

I had an amazing experience from the time I called to make the appointment until I left. I was told what materials to bring, was sent paperwork before my appointment so I could be seen quickly, and was prepped on all procedures for my eye exam. The front desk was very helpful for my first visit and knew her stuff! Dr. Hartzell was AMAZING. By far the best eye doctor I've ever seen! Dr. Harztell was very personable as well as the optometrist! LGBTQ+ friendly and a great experience overall. Cannot recommend them enough!

Much better experience than at local chains! Thorough, efficient, no virtual doctors. Seems like they know what they're doing and actually care, exam and treatment felt personal instead of just a shuffling through of patients. Definitely going back. Easy to schedule and handle my issues.

I have a prescription for new glasses that expires on 3/14/2025. Like and idiot I went to Walmart because it was closer. I bought new glasses. They didn't feel right and didn't correct my vision even after going back to have checked. I drove to York today to see if they could fix them buy putting new lenses in the frames. They told me I would have to have new exam even thought my prescription was still good. I guess they lost my business as I was willing to pay for new lenses. A hour and a half drive for nothing other than it was a nice sunny day.

My first visit to Leaders Heights Eye Center was great. Very friendly and helpful from staff members upon my first visit. As for my eye exam as a Senior Citizen, I think that this was the most thorough exam that I have ever had in my lifetime!!!! Dr. Hartzell was well prepared for my visit & he was patient with me asking him many questions & giving me my answers!!! Thank you to all for making my first visit a positive experience!!!!

Management is very rude, belittling, and degrading in the way they treat their employees. You never know from day to day what you are walking into when it comes to your duties and the way you are treated. Some days are good, most days bad. There is a very high patient flow daily. The staff are overwhelmed daily. I myself began suffering with heart palpitations after starting there due to the high stress levels and demands within the company. The company is very liberal and woke, Dr. Lander has made several political comments. Dr. Lander is very warm and welcoming to his patients. However, he has no problem disrespecting and yelling at his female employees. The company is a family owned company, with most employees being family members. The office manager's mother works part-time in the facility. The office manager speaks to her own elderly family member very disrespectful and harshly as well. That should have been my first clue. Mistakes are not taken lightly, as you will be ridiculed and given much attitude. You must always say good morning to everyone or you will be scolded. You will be sent home or made to wear a mask for a sniffle. However, disinfecting of any kind is not allowed. You are told that was only during Covid. Therefore, nothing is wiped down ever. The office is only scoured once a week by a cleaning crew. Being that it is a health care facility, santizing should be a number one priority always. The same rules do not apply to everyone. The building has security cameras installed throughout. The manager watches them both from her office and on her phone like a hawk spying on the employees and watching their every move. The company has hired and lost 9 people in the last 6 months. The company pays well, but I feel it is only in hopes that it will make people stay. Sadly, their behavior continues to push employees out the door. No amount of money is worth compromising how I should be treated as a human being. Patients always come first and are treated with the utmost respect while employees are not at all. It is not uncommon to be ridiculed by another employee in front of patients daily. I would not recommend this facility. It is a very negative environment behind the scenes.
