Vision Care Barrington

The doctors I've encountered here for myself and my daughter were great. The woman at the front not so much. Phone calls go unreturned. Trying to get a copy of your prescription was a chore and when asked for the PD number she wouldn't give it to me without a fight. After I ordered glasses for my daughter it seemed an inordinate amount of time that I hadn't heard that they came in. I called and inquired about them and she flippantly told me they were there and she called me. She never called. I had no missed calls and no voicemails. She continued to argue with me that she called. I wouldn't be calling about them had I heard from them. When I went for my next yearly appointment, which I had gotten the text to confirm it a couple of days prior, I went to the office and she was baffled as to why I was there because there were no doctors. I showed the text. I had it confirmed. Once again she argued with me. My adult son had issues with her as well trying to get the glasses he had ordered. She's the reason none of us will be returning next year.

I had an appointment today and was pleasantly surprised at how friendly and professional Susan at the front desk was. I have been to several optometry offices and not felt so comfortable. Susan was patient and informative with all my questions. Believe me, I had a LOT of questions regarding insurance coverage, payment options, contacts, and most important frames that will look good. She helped me pick a pair of glasses that will look FABULOUS! I am definitely recommending this office to family and friends. I have already made an appointment for my husband. Thanks Sue!!

I stopped by to take a quick look and consider buying new eyeglasses. I didn't have all of my insurance information readily available. Susan was officious, perfunctory and had an unpleasant attitude. I did not feel welcomed and felt like I was more trouble than she was willing to accept. Once she realized she could be losing a new customer when I politely made an effort to leave, she tried a little harder. I will not be back and will seek another more welcoming optical shop for my purchase.

I've always had a positive experience with Vision Care in Barrington. When you walk in, you can easily see how clean it is and how organized the eyeglasses are. But what makes this place special is how Sue has a real gift at helping you find glasses that are just right for you and that you'll love for a long time! Sue also goes the extra mile to help with insurance payments or to get you in for an eye exam. She really knows the inventory and the ins and outs of processing insurance for you. Definitely give this place a try!

I had another excellent experience with Sue at Barrington office. She was like a Jedi in helping me pick out the right pair of glasses. I am very happy with them, and how she took the time with me to try on A LOT of pairs before I settled on the ones I bought (which I picked up today). I highly recommend working with Sue when getting your next pair of glasses!

We are so lucky to have Sue at Vision Care Barrington. Thank God she is back! I have seen her multitask in unbelievable ways. She constantly is going above and beyond to assist patients. I think of her as a friendly, extraordinarily helpful one woman show. I'm honestly not sure how she does it, but I deeply appreciate all of her efforts on behalf of myself and my children.

Yesterday I had an apt for my son and husband, the experience I received from the receptionist Susan Wolfa was either due to miscommunication or just plain arrogance. Susan's tone was disgruntled, I did not want to say anything because my son and husband were standing there. Everyone else was pleasant per my husband and son because they went back there to be evaluated. The next day, I went over there for info about my son's future apt for contacts and discussed the broken communication and still it was cringy and not conducive at all; her attitude was unbearable and unacceptable for me as a new customer and a provider. My family will not be coming back there because of this horrible experience with Susan. We set an apt at another eye clinic for my son's contact, it's just not worth it to deal with people like her.

I would echo the review below. I will say that I spent several hours of my own time on multiple occasions educating the customer facing staff on how my policy worked, and if I hadn't, I would have lost out on meaningful benefits. My recommendation to ownership/management is to get Susan some help on the back end business side, payer relations, etc. to save your customers future headaches. It's very clear the staffing model (not including accredited providers) isn't working and my customer experience has been terrible.
