College Hill Eye & Optical

Great experience at College Hill Eye and Optical today. I wasn't sure what to expect for my first ever eye exam, but the staff was attentive and made me feel comfortable right away. Scheduling online was quick and easy, as was the check-in and appointment. Dr. Isik was a great mix of knowledgeable and approachable. Glasses selection was impressive too! Will be back for my regular eye exams.

I'm very disappointed with my glasses. I can't see out of them. I have something called chromatic aberration, it is a very real and very Google-able thing. When I got my glasses I told the sales associate Charles about it and said I needed plastic lenses and a good fit so I can see out of the glasses. Charles said he'd never heard of that, but I'd be fine with a different type of lens. Sure enough, the glasses arrive and I can't see out of them. I went to return them and Charles kept insisting that "he's never heard of such a thing" but I advocated myself to get the correct lenses and he begrudgingly re-ordered them for me after implying that I was making it up. They arrive and it's better, but I need the fit adjusted. I go to their other location and speak to the doctor about the issue. He instantly recognizes the problem, is very familiar with it, and tells me I should consider a different size frame. Then he takes me to the sales floor and Charles is there. Charles tells me there's nothing he can do for me because he hasn't heard of this problem, and another salesperson tells me I wasted my one return on these glasses swapping out the lens material. So now I have a $400 pair of glasses I can't see out of because Charles refuses to help me because he hasn't heard of my very googleable and real problem.

Making an appointment online for within a week was easy. The staff were friendly, and the place was well-kept. Dr. Isik was quick and personable. It was easily one of the best optometrist's offices I've visited.

Cinzia miraculously fixed my broken glasses that I was sure couldn't be repaired! It was heavily distorted and bent, but it's like new now! I'll visit again when I need to update my prescription :) Highly recommend

I was a bit skeptical about this place because it's a smaller practice than other places I've been to. However they exceeded my expectations. This is the best I've been able to see in years and all it took was a slight adjustment to the cylinder and axis for my astigmatism. In the past I've had to go back to an office to get at least 4-5 readjustments and I still never saw clearly. The doctor here listened to me and fixed my problem with the care and attention that is often overlooked at big chains. Inside they do have a smaller selection of glasses than some other stores but they are able to order you any frames that you're interested in even if they aren't on display. This review sounds a bit cheesy/overdone but I'm taking the time to write it because they deserve it -- I'm so elated to be able to see clearly. If you're debating coming here DO IT. Also they accept Medicaid (which is a huge plus)!

I bought two pairs of cool sunglasses here, Maui Jim and Ray Ban. Cuz I'm a klutz I've broken the lenses on each pair (2x on Ray Bans). Last time w the Ray Bans there was a glitch in getting back to me on the replacement lenses. When I followed up they compted me the lenses!

Extremely proficient and caring is the best description of the staff at College Hill Optical. Our first exam last year with the optometrist was proven to be the best ever. No pressure, just a caring doctor making it right. We have additional extended test in a few months and have been assured the current optometrist will provide the best guidance for us. I needed a new eye Dr office that was easier to get to from downtown Providence and accepts Medicaid. The eye Dr and all the staff are very friendly, and the office is always clean and quiet. The location is great, too. Highly recommend.
