It was my daughter's first time at this practice and it went amazing. The front desk team was super nice and very kind. The medical assistant was very kind and super thorough with the initial part of the exam. Dr. Langue was great! Super informative, super kind, and overall very welcoming. He and his team are the best. A 10/10 experience!
Finding a doctor who truly understands children with special needs can be difficult, but Mr Langue exceeded all expectations. My daughter, who has Down syndrome, was in horrible eye pain and struggling to see. The care, patience, and compassion shown to her -- and to us as parents -- meant everything. The staff was patient, kind, and truly understanding of her needs.
The doctor listened carefully, explained things in a way we could understand, and treated my daughter with dignity and kindness. I cannot recommend this practice enough.
My son and daughter sees Dr. Michael Langue and he is great and great with kids. he is caring, patient and understanding, he takes his time explaining everything! simply the best! The staff there also the best!
In my opinion, Dr. Chan is an extraordinary professional. However, I can't say the same for those in charge of customer service. Today, January 9, 2026, I called to make an appointment and requested service in Spanish, and the person who spoke to me in Spanish was very vulgar and rude. The call was at 3 PM on January 9, 2027. I know nothing will come of this message, but I wanted to leave it anyway. One star is for the terrible customer service at Dr. Chan's office these days. One star is for the terrible customer service at Dr. Chan's office these days.
Not the experience I was hoping for based on all the positive reviews. Parking is 2 streets away - not ideal with an infant. In the building lobby there isn't adequate signage for locating where to go; you MUST go past the lobby to the elevators to find out where you're going.
The space in the waiting area and in the rooms is a little cramped. There was A LOT of waiting, despite arriving early to the appointment and post eye dilation we waited more than 30 minutes as advised (more like 45 mins). We saw Dr. Chan. Dr. was kind with baby, but unfortunately it felt like a waste of time. Was told baby's issue is common to some degree in everybody (strabismus) and to wait and see if it worsens or improves with time. Glad I researched online, read the handouts and pamphlets prior to ask questions and advocate for baby. Eye patch not even suggested till I mentioned it, and even then it was an afterthought of "If you want to". Infant measured for patch size and advised of use by Dr. Not 1 sample given although plenty in stock as observed. Need a second opinion now.
*October 2024 Update: Follow-up appointment was worse than 1st appointment. We were advised on one treatment in office by Dr. Chan, only for that to be changed to an entirely different method by the time we got home, telephonically, not even discussed in office!? Ended up taking baby to a very well known and reputable hospital in Boston and received the right patient care and treatment plan from the start. I wish I would have avoided Pediatric Ophthalmology in Providence...*
Great staff from the front desk to the ophthalmologist! Dr. Langue is great at what he does and knows how to work with kids. He addresses concerns thoroughly and helps me understand. My child is always excited for his appointments.
First pedi optho visit. My daughter liked him. Very personable and listened well. Would highly recommend!
We had a great experience! Dr. Chan was extremely thorough, explained everything so clearly, answered all our questions, and we didn't feel rushed at all.
