My fiance took an antique pair of frames here to have his prescription put in them, and it was a quick and easy process. There is a fee for using your own frames, but I imagine that's the case at most opticians. They even adjusted two pairs of glasses for me for free that I didn't get at their shop! Pleasant service and fun decor.
Update: Went to look at frames at 10:20a on Monday. Their hours here and on the door say they open at 10a, but the shop was locked up with the lights off. I guess call before you make a trip in.

Meh. I had to update my prescription before I left for vacation as my photographs were always slightly out of focus. It has now been 3 weeks since I ordered my glasses (3 pairs at that!) and still no word from Providence Optical. I called last week and the girl who answered would not even look into my order and just kept saying they will call when they are in. I leave next week -a MONTH after ordering my glasses and now it looks like I will not have any clear pictures from my vacation of a lifetime to Galapagos Islands. So disappointed. Thinking of asking for my money back. I can get new glasses much quicker from a chain store. May still be able to get some before vacation. Mind you it is 3 weeks which is plenty of time for expecting new glasses.
