Carolina Eyecare Physicians - Mary Ader

New to Charleston and scheduled an eye exam with Carolina Eyecare on Mary Ader. Upon entering the office was nice, clean and roomy. The receptionist was pleasant and friendly. After checking in and sitting for a relatively short period a young women can out and called my name and let me to one of the room. She didn't introduce herself or say much other then to have a seat and rest your chin on a machine to do a test. Afterwards she took me to another room and did some other testing and left me till the doctor came. She really could use some customer service training. The doctor came in and introduced himself and chatted for a bit and then ran the standard eye test showing different images and you selecting which was clearer. The staff at the checkout was pleasant and I stopped at the eyewear desk to chat with the person there and then left. Later I received a bill for $36.98 with an explanation of Fundus Phtgrphy l&r. My annual checkups should be free unless I opt for something additional and nobody mentioned any test which would have a cost to it. I called numerous times afterwards trying to get an answer and one lady in billing said I signed paperwork allowing them to whatever they feel is necessary. I told I completely understand that if they feel something needs done in additional to the standard eye exam they should be informing you that they would like to do a test outside the standard which would incur a cost. She did agree someone should have and would look into and get back to me. This has been weeks and I have not received any explanation. I have also called back several time and because the hold is so long am forced to leave a Voice Mail to which none of those have been returned either. Will definitely find a more reputable eye care place or future exams.

Dr Peter B Knowlton and his staff were extremely professional & supportive; i was seen in a reasonable period of time by all concerned. The examination was extensive and thorough! This is my second year with Dr. Knowlton who took over from William Lee, my former ophthalmologist who retired Two years ago. Extremely pleased to have Dr. Knowlton as my Ophthalmologist!!

Wonderful visit! Met Shawn's who is so professional yet down to earth and very thoughtful. Dr. Knowlton is always a pleasure and I have the utmost belief in his evaluations and recommendations.

. Dr. Elliott is exceptional. After seeing several eye doctors over the past few years, he was the first to truly listen to my concerns. He accurately identified my need for prism lenses and prescribed glasses that made a significant difference. This correction not only improved my vision but also resolved ongoing neck issues caused by eye misalignment. I'm very grateful for his thorough, attentive care.

From the receptionist other staff and Dr..Knowlton my first visit was amazing. I Explained my concerns to Dr. Knowlton and he clearly addressed every concern. I will return to Carolina Eyecare Physicians- Mary Ader Thank, You all for your kind and professional care!

Excellent staff and service. Dr Elliott is the best. He is very compassionate and always fun to talk to. Makes me laugh always. He does a great job with explaining everything. Very knowledgeable. 10 stars if it was possible.
