Charleston Eye

I would definitely recommend Charleston Eye! I was recently there with my son, who had never had an eye exam, and for my checkup. Erica, the receptionist was warm and friendly as we entered; checked us in and we were seen promptly. Emily began the exam by checking the health of our eyes - putting my son at ease and explaining the process as we went through it. Dr. Smouse finished our eye exams and answered any outstanding questions that I had. Lastly, Brian was amazing at helping pick out frames, explaining the different options for the lenses and going over our insurance. They have a very nice selection of frames to choose from. From start to finish, everything and everyone was exceptional. We will absolutely be back!

I have gone to the same eye doctor for 20 years. I wasn't able to make it home for my annual exam and Charleston Eye was able to get me on their schedule. Everyone was kind and thorough and familiar with granular dystrophy (rare). 10/10 recommend if you are in need of an eye doctor.

They were very helpful in making sure my insurance covered my exam. The exam itself was very thorough but timely, and I spent nearly no time waiting in the lobby, and they were even able to get me in a little earlier, my appointment was scheduled for 2pm and I was done at 1:59pm. They were very considerate with me needing to reschedule, and were able to get me an appointment later in the week.

Highly recommend Charleston Eye- the staff is very friendly, accommodating, and motivated to create a quick and comfortable experience. After my regular contact brand decided to stop making my prescription, I saw several optometrists for over a year with zero luck. My issue was FINALLY resolved at my first appointment at Charleston Eye; Dr. Smouse was incredibly knowledgable and willing to help, and he was able to get me contacts that work perfectly for me.

Had a terrific first experience at Charleston Eye. From the minute I walked in the door, everyone was so friendly and helpful. My eye exam was very thorough and Dr. Smouse was very knowledgeable. Love the convenient location downtown and that they have parking behind the building!

Great eye exam and Dr. Sprouse listened to my needs whining about progressives and computers. Ended up with a computer script and a progressive script. Definitely felt like it was a much better/thorough exam than some of the national chains. I don't have vision insurance and the out of pocket really felt worth it.

I have had a great experience at Charleston Eye. The staff is amazing, the location is easy to get to and has parking, scheduling is easy, and I never feel rushed. I have had annual exams, as well as brought in frames to get fit with my prescription. It's been extremely smooth each time.

I had a very good experience here. From the first phone call through to the appointment everyone was very kind. I got a lot of clarity on my vision needs from my appointment and felt confident this practice gives good care. I would definitely recommend them.
