From the moment you step into the front door to a beautiful and cozy office located in downtown Charleston, you are greeted by such a warm and professional staff, from start to finish. Dr. Smouse is a warm and knowledgeable Dr. When it comes to your sight. I'm very pleased with my results! I highly recommend these awesome professionals. From the time you check in , to the last person you meet with to explain your benefits in great detail and by the way has a wonderful sense of humor These folks are amazing and genuinely provide the best customer service. I am in gratitude that I can walk to this office from my home and that to me is so convenient.

I scheduled as a new patient. Due to unforeseen circumstances including work and traffic, I called as a courtesy to let them know that I was running 15 minutes late. I was told that they have a unwavering, exact 10 minute late policy and that I would have to reschedule. As a busy professional, I have been waiting for this appointment for several weeks and this is unacceptable. I decided that if this is how patients are treated, I did not want to pursue my treatment with their office.

The service here is absolutely incredible! I needed help in a pinch, and they were happy to assist right away! I couldn't be more thankful for this spot! Definitely stop in here for any eye needs!!

My husband and I have both been going to Dr. Smouse and team for several years. I have terrible vision and need glasses for both reading and computer work, both of which require annual updating. Dr. Smouse carefully listens to my concerns regarding how I view my sight as having devolved over the prior year and does a great job of tuning my vision Rx accordingly so I can see both electronic and paper perfectly. He is timely with appointments and has a very friendly and helpful staff working with him. My husband and I are both very happy with this practice.

Dr. Smouse is incredibly smart, kind, and has an excellent bedside manner. My family has seen him for regular eye exams, as well as emergencies, and he has always taken the best care of us. We are so lucky to have found him!

Dr. Smouse accepted me when I made a same-day emergency appointment for an eyelid infection. He prescribed me antibiotics that helped the swelling (which was significant) disappear within 7 days' time. He had a kind and patient bedside manner, explaining to me exactly what happened and answering all my questions. Highly recommend!

My Yearly Consultation With Dr. Smouse and Charleston Eye Center went Perfectly! The Staff is Always professional and also Congrats on there new location which includes off the street parking. Will continue to support.

My family and I have been working with this office for many years. They had a nice and friendly staff and made sure you're in a comfortable situation at all steps. But sadly, everything is changed! To begin with, their new location and parking spots are extremely inconvenient. Erica at the front desk is one of the least pleasant people I have ever had to talk to in person. She is rude, hangs up on you, and can't seem to ever even force a smile. She makes it clear that the whole experience is not going to go well. A "student" which I did not know she is a "student" called me to follow her for the eye exams. She never mentioned she is a student, I thought she is the doctor assistant and like before she is going to ask basic questions and do basic eye exams, and then Dr. Smouse comes and check my eyes. However, she finished all the eye exams by herself, and Doctor did not show up. However, because she, the "Student", diagnosed an additional exam with extra charges needs to be done, she said she will ask doctor if he wants to do that. After I refused to do that, Dr. Smouse showed up and immediately after entering the room rudely said "What is going on"!!!. When he found out I am unhappy about the eye exam procedure with a student he said nothing and behaved like 'that's what it is..'!! I left the office and did not do additional exam. Surprisingly, they charged me for a normal annual exam fee even though Dr. Smouse never checked or tested my eyes.
