I was on vacation and was referred to the Eye Center by an urgent care in Charleston. I had been experiencing eye pain for four days and it was getting worse. The Eye Center gave me a same day appointment. The staff were very professional and personable. Dr. House found the little eyelash that was growing toward my eyeball, which was the cause of my discomfort and pain. He, and team, saved my vacation.
Doctors are fine. NO way to pay online, and every time I have called, I've gotten the message that they are closed for lunch, closed for a holiday, or all representatives are busy. Finally got through today, Jan 2026. Had a horrible experience August 2025 with receptionist being unable to find my appointment (arrived early but had to wait in line for over ten minutes). When I finally got back into the exam room to wait for the doctor, I asked the assistant if there was a time estimate on how far behind they were running, as I had another appointment and hadn't planned to be there for so many hours. She looked at my chart and said something about me being late checking in. I corrected her that I'd been early and the time of checkin listed was just when they finally located my appointment, which took them several minutes due to a spelling error on their end, after I'd already waited in line for ten minutes. Despite competent medical staff, I don't think I'll be back.
Dr. House and his staff were extremely accommodating and professional. They worked me in last minute for an eye issue. He answered all my questions and concerns while addressing the problem. Highly recommend.
Had such a great experience at my annual exam with Dr.House! Lovely and capable team of providers, they made me feel very comfortable. Happy to have finally found a provider that works for my needs.
Had my second appointment with Dr. Hugh Wright since moving to the area. He was recommended by my Primary Care doc, Dr. Laura Kinney. When I entered the office I was immediately asked to sanitize my hands, which I liked. My temp was taken and then I had a very short wait until I was called. I had arrived early and was called back exactly at the time of my appointment. I had a test I have every 6 months because of a medication I regularly take, then I was given a very thorough eye test to check my vision. Dr. Wright came in to discuss the findings and very thoroughly discussed my particular case, vision changes, etc. He made sure that I understood everything we discussed. I feel very comfortable with his care and am appreciative of everyone in his office. From the receptionist to the ladies who did the testing to the check-out desk, I highly recommend this office.
I was referred by Ben, a PA at Nason, when I had extreme right eye pain. I was too sensitive to light for him to even look in my eye. He called and was told for me to come right over to be seen. All of the staff are professional and more importantly, genuinely concerned about my well being. Dr. House has monitored my progress closely for which I'm thankful. After the first visit, my husband was so impressed he asked about being seen for general eye exam since he was due. They scheduled him for the same time as my follow up. Both of us would highly recommend Eye Center of Charleston West Ashley.
Very unprofessional and unorganized staff. Today, I went to inquire about my contact lenses that they claimed that I picked up on a specific day while I was at my occupation. They claimed that I picked it up the same day that I made the purchase. HOWEVER, I was at work on that day so I made a purchase for my contact lenses via mobile phone. I contacted the insurance company and they stated that: "no claims were made in the month of June." So that means, that the staff was not truthful about my transactions and I felt they accused me of lying to them about contact lenses I did not (and could not) pick up on that day due to my work schedule. Do not waste your time and money at a place like this. Unfortunately, they were adamant about them not being flawed with their work. They refused to reimburse me because they said "they can't refund what has been picked up." And the attitude I received from that staff member was unacceptable, especially when SHE was in the wrong. If I could rate a zero, I would!
I have been seeing Dr. Kulze at the Goose Creek location for three years. This month, December of 2023, I had cataract surgery. I am a terrible patient! A worrier with mobility issues who needs my hand held at every stage. Well, the staff was awesome. I want to call out Allie, Tina and Dr. Kulze, specifically, because I must have been sooooooooooo annoying, but they just kept answering my questions and smiling. But everyone I encountered was friendly, efficient and professional. There were no weak links. The process was streamlined and they handled everything from insurance to prescriptions. My apprehension was the only difficult part! The surgery was so smooth and pain-free. I can't recommend them enough.
