Worst customer service experience that I have ever experienced! I went to Folline Vision Centers last May and ordered a pair of glasses. The owner of the store and the sales associate were pleasant and easy to work with. Everything changed once I picked up my glasses. I tried on my new glasses and noticed that they felt heavier than when I had originally tried them on. They adjusted my glasses and asked me to wear them for about a week to get used to them. I went back after 3 days to have them adjusted because they were so uncomfortable. I went back several times to have them adjusted and to have the nose pads changed. Two weeks later, I saw that they had received a new shipment of Silhouette frames and glasses. I asked the store manager if I could receive a credit toward purchasing a new pair of glasses because they did not have these glasses when I purchased mine. Keep in mind that I had spoken to the assistant store manager who was friendly, knowledgeable and apologetic for the experiences that I had. She requested that I ask the manager to see if I could receive a $200.00 credit. When I mentioned this to the manager, she rudely informed me that once I purchase a pair of glasses that there was nothing that can be done because they're customed made. It was my fault for choosing a pair of glasses that were not comfortable. Today, I went into the store to see if I could take a picture of a pair of frames that I liked to order from a different location. The sales associate who worked with me a year ago was curt and rude and would not allow me to take pictures or write down a serial number off of the frame. She reluctantly gave me a piece of paper and a pen. She then looked over my shoulder as I wrote down a description of the frames that I liked. Shortly there after, the manager asked what I was doing and then she also looked at the piece of paper to see what I was writing down. I will never go back! They are over priced, rude and not willing to assist the customer despite an item being bought within a 30 day time period.
Last May I visted this location. I typically frequent the broad river location due to it being close to my place of work. Well I randomly walked into this location browsing glasses and saw some I really liked. The associated was helpful. Well after going through at the Broad River location I had my prescription on hand. I gave it the person at this location and was told my glasses would be ready soon. Well after a few weeks, I got the call and took the 35 minute drive to get my new glasses. Well, after having them on I noticed I couldn't see clearly. I called back several times and was told it takes some time for the eyes to adjust. I've worn glasses for well over a decade and never had this problem. I was told to give it a week to adjust. Of course, after a week they had not adjusted. So I took them back and was told it was the wrong prescription (of course it was). So that was fixed. Then a month later one of my lens became very scratchy and not from my doing. Well after calling the associate said it could be due to the film on the lenses. Especially since only on lense was scratched and the other one was not. Just wasn't the greatest experience.
The doctor that performed my eye exam at the Broad River location was amazing, not because he is a fellow Vet, but because he really understands how to treat customers. Other than that, I didn't have a positive customer experience at the Folline Vision Centers. The sunglasses at the Broad River location were locked inside glass and the reps were not very helpful so they directed me to the Forest Drive location. I believe the reps at the Forest Drive location operate with a certain level of dishonesty and deception, especially in their marketing practices. I was actually sold a pair of sunglasses that are listed for women. Rachel did not mention this and Brenda would not admit this fact when I called back to ask. Instead Brenda preferred to cut me off and talk over me in an attempt to argue with me so I ended the call. I actually had to call the manufacturer to get an honest answer about the sunglasses I just purchased for them. After this experience I now understand why Rachel charged my credit card for the full amount instead of a deposit of half the cost like we agreed. I now believe she was afraid I would find out the truth before paying the second half of the cost. Her actions actually helped me decide not to get a second pair of reading glasses at that time. I decided to put those sunglasses on my closet shelf and get a pair of men's sunglasses which is what I really want. So I have an appointment with an authorized dealer in a few days. An authorized dealer probably isn't that desperate to sell sunglasses and actually understands how to make every customer a repeat customer.
The worst vision center ever. The eye doctor is very sweet but I been there 3 times and he still could find my prescription. I should've read these reviews first before going there. They claimed they would call me back to see how my contacts were and they never called me. I went there and they said the would contact me and see what need to be done next a lady call me today saying that I would have to pay another fee and also going back and forth with me saying that I needed to follow directions. She was very rude and I wish I might give yall another penny.
One star is over generous!!! Glasses take more than a week longer than promised and the glasses I picked up are not the ones I ordered and multiple family members, with me when I ordered them agree.
Interesting, they don't give you anything to verify what you ordered other than take your money and give you a credit card receipt so all they say id today is "this is your prescription in the lenses you picked out." Well, NO, these are not the glasses I picked out. I was trying, in this COVID world, to help a small business, DO NOT make the same mistake I did, TERRIBLE experience. Find another place to get your glasses made. I was going to return in January to have lenses put in a previous frame, that will NOT happen. There are plenty of small vision centers, I will find someone else.
This is an update as my glasses still fall apart every 5-6 weeks and Folline was not willing to do anything to help me. In that they felt it was appropriate to tighten my frames every few weeks, they stripped the screws and the frames frequently fall apart into 4 pieces. Not only did I file a dispute w/ my credit card (who felt it appropriate to reimburse me for what I paid for these terrible frames) but the company that made my frames sent me to LensCrafters for warranty repair. While Folline wasted by annual lens and bi-annual frame benefit, LensCrafters near Whole Foods is exceptional and I highly recommend them!
Several members of my family and I are customers of Folline Vision Centers, and we have all had excellent experiences. Everything about the stores is five star -- the selection of frames is fantastic, as is the help and guidance they give to each customer in finding a pair of frames that is "just right" for their face and lifestyle. They make eyeglass shopping fun, like purchasing a great new accessory! The staff is extremely competent and very helpful throughout the whole process, including making adjustments and tightening frames whenever necessary. They went out of their way to help us resolve a simple billing problem with my credit card. If you want a pair of eyeglasses that will not only help you see better, but also better your look, this is the place to go. Very highly recommend.
I typically do not give reviews, but I was so taken back by my interaction with the receptionist during my phone call with her, that I felt compelled to post. I had a previous exam with Dr. Kriegshaber (great interaction and bedside manner) and had my pupillary distance measurement taken so that I could order Rx lenses for my military sunglasses and goggle inserts. When calling back and speaking with the receptionist, who stated she was new, she did not know that Dr. Kreigshaber was even a doctor at the Trenholm Plaza location where she was working. She also informed me that it is their policy to not give out the pupillary distance measurement as they only take that when a patient is ordering glasses that they provide. I feel that measurement is part of my initial exam and should have been documented in case a patient later requests it. I've had to do that in the past and never had an issue at any other eyecare office where I have been a patient. I asked if I could come back into Folline to have the measurement retaken and she told me not unless I were ordering glasses from them. I will not be returning and will take my business elsewhere.
Absolutely DO NOT buy from this location. On top of inflated prices, they have no desire to actually help customers out. I bought a pair of $500 eyeglasses a year ago and looked into a second pair for emergency cases. I decided to go the online route to save 2-300$ but they essentially refused to give me any of the measurements from my existing glasses (that I paid for). Instead, they claimed that I was taking a risk by buying elsewhere. When I tried to explain that me asking for my existing glasses measurements was already assuming any risk, they still refused.
It's nice to know that all they care about is charging you 2x what you'd pay online and providing no quality service. Very disappointed.
