I have been coming to this location for several years for my annual eye exam. Every visit has been quick and pleasant. DR. Greathouse completed my eye exam in record time, and the cashier Tom was so very helpful and patient in helping me choose a pair of frames and explaining all of my lens options. As someone who has a very strong prescription, it is important to understand what lens will give me the best seeing experience without also breaking the bank. Tom was up to the task! I will definitely recommend this Lens Crafters to anyone.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at the LensCrafters in Columbiana Mall in Columbia, South Carolina! We all went in for eye exams and ended up purchasing four pairs of glasses. A huge shoutout to Mr. Tom, who was incredibly helpful and genuinely happy to assist us throughout the entire process. He made what could have been a long day very pleasant and stress-free. Highly recommend this location for their great service!

My visit to LensCrafters on December 27, 2025 was quite pleasant. My wait time was short. The receptionist check me in promptly, then the technician called me up to start the process. Shortly afterward, the doctor seen me. She explained what she identified during my examination. Then she asked me did I have any questions and she answered them with not a lot of technical jargon, and I was able to understand, and it was over. From there, I went and talked to Tom. He explained my options for my new prescription. I was very satisfied with the service, the price, the professionalism and the well knowledge staff at the Columbia LensCrafters. I look forward to receiving my new prescription and I would highly recommend this location to all my family and friends. Sincerely, a satisfied customer - Cowboy Mike.

I ordered a pair of glasses on December 28, 2025. I was notified that they were ready and picked them up on January 9, 2026. Immediately after receiving the glasses and walking to my car, I noticed green letters and numbers visible in the lenses. I returned to the store right away, where the issue was examined and confirmed by the employee assisting me as well as another staff member. I was informed that the optometrist had left early due to a family matter and that she would review the glasses when she returned on Saturday. After not hearing from anyone, I called the store to follow up. At that time, I was told a replacement pair had been ordered and that I could either wait or receive a refund and go elsewhere if I needed glasses immediately. The replacement glasses arrived on January 17, and I picked them up today. Trusting that the issue had been resolved, I wore them and soon realized that the lenses were not progressive, which is what was originally prescribed and ordered. I immediately called the store and spoke with the manager, who initially insisted that the lenses were progressive. After placing me on hold for approximately 20 minutes and reviewing the order, he acknowledged that the wrong lenses had been ordered and that they were, in fact, not progressive. Once again, I was told my only options were to wait for yet another replacement or accept a refund. This situation is a major inconvenience. If I choose to go elsewhere, I will be forced to use my vision benefits again due to your store's repeated mistakes. If I choose to wait, I am left at the mercy of a process that has already failed twice. At this point, I have no confidence that a third attempt will be handled correctly. The repeated errors, lack of follow-up, and dismissive handling of this matter reflect a troubling level of incompetence and a lack of concern for how these mistakes affect customers. I expect corrective action, accountability, and a resolution that does not further penalize me for errors I did not make. I am requesting prompt contact regarding how this situation will be resolved fairly.

Kathy was very helpful, knowledgeable, and polite. She helped us get the best out of pocket cost considering we had a promotion email and insurance. Dr. Joyner was exceptional as well. She was very thorough, patient, and friendly. I have been telling everyone about our experience and I have even brought my mom in for an exam and eyeglasses. Definitely would recommend.

I have been into this location at Columbiana Centre, Columbia, SC, for an exam, glasses and contacts. I was pleased with the doctors and staff and found the level of service and professionalism to be outstanding. They gave me plenty of time and trials to determine which contact prescription worked best for me. My former provider did not give me that option. I had become disenchanted with her and didn't know where to go. I had been to the Len's Crafters location in Overland Park, KS, so I gave this one a try. I worked with Thomas and Gisell on my orders. They were great. Very satisfied.

I have wore glasses my whole life, i have multiple eye problems that make it hard for me to get a prescription. After 2 failed attempts from other optometry places, LensCrafters was able to get me a prescription. Not only did they do that, they took extra time out of their way to make sure everything was correct with no issues. Thank you for not just doing the job, but also caring about others. Shout out to OD Joyner

I've been wearing contacts since 2002 and have been a LensCrafters customer since before 2019, so I am absolutely not a new contact lens wearer. I recently got married and changed my last name, and today I went to my scheduled eye exam to get an updated prescription under my married name. I was told that because I had never had a contact lens prescription in my new last name, I was considered a "new fitting" and would be required to pay a fitting fee or they would refuse to see me. My EyeMed insurance covers contact lens fittings with a $0 deductible, and my exam copay is only $10. I was even willing to pay the $39 retinal scan, as I know that's required of LensCrafters. LensCrafters still insisted the fitting would not be billed to insurance and had to be paid out of pocket. Nothing about my eyes changed when I got married, only my last name. My first and middle names are the same, my date of birth is the same, my Social Security number is the same, and most importantly, my eyeballs are the same ones I've been wearing contacts in for over 20 years. They could have easily pulled my long customer history and verified that I've been fitted before. They refused to do so. Instead, they told me it was "new LensCrafters policy" that anyone without a current contact prescription in their existing name must pay the fitting fee, and that they could not verify that my insurance covers this fee. I even got EyeMed on the phone, who confirmed I have a $0 deductible for fittings and they cover it if it's billed. When I declined to pay out of pocket what felt like an absurd and unnecessary charge, they cancelled my appointment and told me I needed to leave the store as they were refusing service until I paid out of pocket to be fitted. This feels like pure extortion and terrible customer service toward a long-time client. I will be taking my business elsewhere after more than a decade with LensCrafters.
