Mason Family Vision

I started seeing Dr. Katie Mason last year, and I'm grateful for her and her help. She VERY patiently guided me through trying contacts versus glasses, and she helped me identify and fix a medical issue I was having with my eyes that I had just dismissed as allergic irritation. I respect and admire her passion for her work and for helping her patients. It's apparent she spends a lot of time learning and staying on top of medical developments that can help her patients. The technology for testing in the office is extensive. All of the staff I've interacted with in the office have been friendly and welcoming. The office building is attractive, clean, and welcoming, too. It's a little bit of a drive for me from downtown Columbia, but it's well worth it.

I, can say without question that Dr. John and Katherine Mason are knowledgeable, trustworthy, and will explain any issues concerning your eyes. You, as a patient will have to do your part by doing what they tell you to do to keep your eyes healthy as you grow older. Not only is he a good doctor. Best service i have ever had at an eye Dr. They know what there doing, and they do it right.

This practice is very professional and competent from the staff, the optometrists--Dr. John Mason and Dr. Katie Mason-- to the opticians. I have been a patient of Dr. John for over 20 years. And, I have seen Dr. Katie as well. They are very detailed in explaining the exams and results. What also distinguishes their practice is that they stay up-to-date on new technologies and upgrade their equipment accordingly. They also treat both adults and children, so your entire family can be treated in the same practice. Their office is modern and attractive with lots of windows at the front of the building allowing for natural light. They are conveniently located in a standalone office building in northeast Columbia.

The doctor is great but my prescription for my glasses didn't work out for me. The staff that handle the eyewear area acted like mean girls. I expressed my concerns about how the prescription in the glasses bothered my eyes and made my vision worse. I was told just keep wearing them and it would get better. I disagreed. Finally they said the doctor would cut it down.. I came back for the glasses and it was the same. Still the bully stood there in front of me and daring me to complain. Told me to keep wearing them. I will NEVER go back. I just took the glasses. What a waste of money. I do not recommend them! Linda King

I recently saw Dr. John Mason, on referral from a friend, and everything about my visit was fabulous! From the moment I walked in, the staff were extremely kind and welcoming, the facility was beautiful, and I overall felt very comfortable. Every staff member I worked with was outstanding in their customer service, and overall they were some of the friendliest folks I have encountered. Dr. Mason was also fabulous - he is warm and welcoming and immediately put me at ease (I'm always nervous around new people and when doing health stuff, so I was extra anxious going into the appointment). He was through in the exam and provided prompt feedback after the appointment as well. I would definitely recommend others visit Mason Family!

The optometrists are terrific but they're really really slow. The staff members aren't the friendliest and lady that sizes you for glasses as a terrible cough and should not be working close with patients, coughing and not sanitizing her hands.

I had the best experience ever. It was my first experience dealing with gas permeable contacts. I thought i was a lost cause due to dry eyes and sensitivity issues but Dr. K. Mason really showed how hard she works for her patients and didn't give up with getting the correct fit for me. I just referred my MIL to her office. I will be a long time customer. Thank you so much.
