Prisma Health Ophthalmology-4 Med Park

My insurance states I am allowed to have one routine eye exam per year in exchange for a $20 co-pay. I went to this place for my routine eye exam (99204) and the visit was upcoded to 99204 which is Office/Outpatient New Moderate Mdm 45 Minutes, not the routine eye exam code. "Elevated IOP, bilateral" was put in my diagnosis despite a completely normal exam with an IOP of 18 bilaterally and never having a previous diagnosis of IOP. This means insurance would not cover the visit, and I was charged $268.77. I called customer service almost immediately and was told my bill would be sent to their coding team for review and to not go to the clinic to dispute it. I called 2 weeks later after I had not received an update and was basically told there was no update. I then received a call from their manager, Mary, 2 months later (Almost 3 months since the initial billing). I called back and Mary said she would get it figured out. I call her back about 5-6 weeks later as it still had not been figured out, and I knew the deadline was approaching. I received the following voicemail a few days later. "[The provider] has not reviewed my inquiry yet. I wanted to touch base and let you know that it hasn't fallen through the cracks. We're just waiting. I'm waiting on an update from her. She may have had an overflow clinic today. I know it was pretty busy, so I will touch base back with her in the morning and contact you tomorrow as well." At this point, it had been almost 4 months since I was sent my bill which is the approximate amount of time before PRISMA sells the debt to collectors. She never called me back. I had in fact, "fallen through the cracks." I ended up paying the $268.77 to the debt collectors. I do not trust this clinic and would not recommend it to my friends and family.

If you want to have your time wasted, you've found the right place. I've been here twice with my son but neither of us have been seen, not once. He was referred by his pediatrician and I was referred by my optometrist back in January. I was thrilled to have both of us seen at the same place by the same doctor. Sadly, they make it nearly impossible for parents and children to be seen one after the other, even WITH appointments. The failure to accommodate me and my son, not once but TWICE, coupled with the ridiculous wait times on the phone and in person make me ashamed to say I ever gave them a second chance. Avoid this place at all costs.

Dr Ling and her staff were so thorough and caring. My son was having issues and they got us in promptly. They did an excellent job diagnosing and getting testing done immediately. They got us a referral and appointment with a neuro opthamologist. It was one of best exams he has had. He has serious eye problems and was seen at Emory in Atlanta for years. They have called us promptly with results of tests . Very pleased with Dr Ling and staff.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I don't know if the front desk staff just don't like their jobs or just sitting there checking in patients bothers them, but I think they should consider a different career. I was told to come up there for an appt, I arrived, just for them to tell me I have to wait hours for said appt. When asking me questions, me trying to explain my situation from what I know, 1 kept cutting me off. It's like they were upset that I was there. Never got my appt. , have to come back nest year. So making me wait just to tell me to leave. Their look, their tones were disgusting and my primary care doctor is gonna have to recommend me somewhere else.

Unprofessional!! Don't like the staff who answers the phone! I've been waiting for an appointment for my son that's suddenly blind with 20/200 vision for over a month that is a STAT patient referred from the pediatrics. I've called twice. The first time I was told to let them call me in two weeks bc that's how long they take to schedule appointments. The peds gave me the number to call and let them know he is a stat patient when I called again, a month later. It seems they want to be argumentative and rude. Then say they are a year behind with scheduling. How is that a change all of a sudden in a month?! How are they accepting new clients then?? At this point I'd prefer he goes somewhere else. Do not recommend.

This optical shop (4Medical Park) location is excellent! Caroline and Michelle took excellent care of my grandson!!

While the actual doctors are great and listen to your needs. The reception in front office lacks compassion integrity call because I had to reschedule two appointments due to emergencies. Severe emergencies where I was in the hospital having surgery. The lady got really nasty on the phone and said it was not her problem. I'm not sure what's going on with Prisma front desk clerks but they are the face of Prisma health and it is not a good one.

I came here with my husband and the wait is insane. I can't speak on the staff, the appointment scheduling process, etc. But I can say I would never use this place because I value my time and waiting 45 minutes to be called back for an appointment is insane. Also the bathroom has urine all over the toilet which was super gross.
