They advertise same day glasses services and I had to wait for mine to be made and shipped. I agreed but definitely didn't agree to waiting for my glasses for over month. It took a full calendar month to get one pair and 2 weeks from there to get my other pair. The optometrist is virtual and not friendly or engaging just eye exam on zoom and gone. I hate it. And it sucks because this was my first time finding out I needed glasses. and the glasses cases are cheap plastic
I had an appointment scheduled for an eye exam. I was assured by Adrianna that it was $79 WITHOUT insurance and without the purchase of glasses, for an eye exam. Or $119 for a contact lenses exam which included a prescription for glasses. Mind you, the same day I made my appointment I paid $79 as advertised, for my son's eye exam! I came to my appointment, the guy who claimed he was the branch manager told me it'd be $79 just for the exam, or $79 for the exam and 2 pair of glasses. I told him I just wanted the exam, his response "okay, it's better to buy glasses than to pay $79 for a piece of paper".. Roll back the cameras if you wish! Well I ignored that comment, and he directed me to the waiting area. After waiting 10 minutes he came back, "oh it's not $79, it's $157".. NO reasoning for the major price jump. I see your response to others comments similar to mine is "oh different packages vary" well he changed the price to $157 before they ever did anything! No I don't require specialized exams, lenses etc I have a very simple prescription. He gave ZERO explanation. I told him the day before I had literally paid only $79 for my son's exam with no glasses purchase. He claimed it "must've been a special they had going on at the time for children's exams". No, there was no such special going on. It was simply the fact that Adriana honored the advertised price,
and he chose not to because I didn't want to purchase any glasses from them. The price was never the issue, i'm a self paying customer I can afford an exam! The issue is the back-and-forth and the dishonesty. As I previously stated, please roll back your cameras (5/6/2026) and you will clearly see that my description of my visit is exactly how it happened. This was absolute insanity, and I will absolutely be escalating this issue. In fact even after paying for my son's eye exam, I will be taking him to lensCrafters to assure that his prescription is correct. After leaving Stanton optical today, I went to Magnolia eye associates at LensCrafters in Magnolia Mall for myself & I was given upfront pricing, taken back immediately as a walk in, and treated wonderfully by staff.I must mention, it was much less than what Stanton Optical was trying to charge. I saw a real eye doctor and was not hounded by LensCrafters staff to buy glasses from them..
As I said, I will continue to escalate this until this is taken care of and customers are not being lied to by the staff at Stanton optical anymore. I will be contacting the BBB due to false advertisement. Since I didn't want to drop money on glasses from them, the sales manager wouldn't make commission off me.. So he didn't want to deal with me which is why he would not honor the advertised price, so i'd leave! Again, paying $157 was never the issue.. The issue was being treated as "less than" simply because he couldn't make commission.

1 star is being nice. In May of 2025 I went in for an exam and they had me order contacts. I told them then that the contacts weren't the right strength. Gave me another sample to try. Still wrong. Tried another pair and they were wrong again. I went in on Feb 10, 2026 to tell them again that the contacts were still wrong and they gave me the same 3 sets to try again. Up close I can't read a thing in all 3 pairs. Distance one is good. Well since they had my script I went in and also asked about getting glasses and wanted a pair I have already to have the lenses replaced. Got everything together and I pay for it on my care credit. Wellllll they tell me that they can't accept it that way that they don't know how to verify it on their end and that they don't have the money. I show them my phone and show them that they are paid! Today is March 4th and the money is still taken out of my acct. how can a corporation not realize they have an extra $388.77???? I've called care credit and they have told me that the manager can call them and tell them that services weren't done that they aren't fixing the glasses since they don't know how to do their job by looking on the care credit page to see that they were paid! I've called the manager and asked him to call me back. I had to leave a message. It's been almost a month and I still haven't been refunded. So now they have over $200.00 in contacts still sitting in their office that I can't use and need a refund on I also have a care credit amount of $387.77 that needs refunded. I'm looking at this staff and company and feeling like they are nothing but thieves at this point.
So please DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! I'm owed almost $600.00 and can't get anyone to help me get my money back!!!!
The employees at this location were very kind but everything beyond that quickly went down hill. I left work and arrived early for a scheduled appointment and upon checking in was told the appointment meant nothing. I was asked to leave and return in an hour and a half or longer. I didn't leave but decided to look around at the glasses and wait it out. When I was finally called for my appointment they went over pricing, which was not what was advertised or posted throughout the store. I went forward with the eye exam anyways because I had already wasted so much time there. Only after waiting was I finally called back and then told I would not see an actual doctor but would have my eye exam through a zoom type call. Finally get my prescription and start choosing frames to once again be blindsided by prices. There were no buy one get one free frames as advertised. The selection was minimal and most of the frames that were out on display were from the 3 highest price points. After finally deciding on a pair and working out the details, I'm told it will take 2 weeks for the glasses to come in. I was told this location offers same day glasses and they have signs posted everywhere advertising such, but this location actually doesn't do same day glasses at all. Finally checking out and it was way more than expected It was not the original price I was told when making the appointment nor was it the new pricing I was told before the appointment, but much more. I finish all the paperwork and pay, then I am given two referrals and told I have my prescription for now but still need to go see another doctor to have an in person exam done. Now I feel as if I wasted hours of my day and money on glasses with a prescription that may not be accurate and still needing an in person exam.
This place is a mess. Yes, they got me in same day -- but everything after that was a complete waste of my time.
I was told over the phone that the Florence location does same-day glasses unless the lenses are specialty. I drove 50 minutes based on that information. When I arrived, I was told they aren't doing same-day glasses at all right now. Come to find out, the person who answered the phone does not even work at this location, yet confidently gave out false information. That alone is unacceptable.
When I arrived around 4:30 PM, I was the only patient in the building, yet staff were in the back laughing and talking about nonsense like it was a break room hangout while I sat waiting. Extremely unprofessional and showed zero respect for my time.
The "eye exam" was a joke -- a maybe 3-minute Zoom call with a doctor who appeared to be at home, hair messy, looking completely unprofessional. No explanation of results, no conversation, no care whatsoever. It felt rushed and lazy.
The glasses selection was awful, so I decided to just pay the $79 exam fee and leave. The man who checked me out --white/gray hair -- was about to let me walk out without my prescription. If I hadn't stopped and asked for it, I would have left with nothing. He literally said "oh yeah" and printed it after I reminded him. No one reviewed my results, explained anything, or even acted like they cared.
This location is disorganized, misleading, and wildly unprofessional from start to finish. I will NEVER return and would strongly recommend going anywhere else
Adriana was so nice! She helped me and my family when I couldn't, she answered and explained any questions to my family calmly and patiently. I would really recommend her for when you have questions or if you speak spanish, she can also help. I admire how she speaks with people, not caring about age, race, or background!
I made an appointment at 2:30. I was not taken back until 3 o'clock. I was told my glasses would take approximately seven days. We are currently on day 14 and they are just now in transit. I've called the store multiple times I cannot get them to answer the phone. When I called customer service, I could barely understand the individual speaking to me. Finally got someone to answer on the phone at the store today and they let me know they've been in transit three days and hopefully we'll have them here by Friday Which will be 18 days from my order. I have a bad feeling that I'm gonna get my glasses. They're not gonna be right and I'm gonna be without them for another three weeks.
I had a small issue with the lenses on both pairs of my glasses, which understandably not made on site, and the team at Stanton Optical handled everything with professionalism, care, and understanding. The service was excellent from start to finish, and I truly appreciate how quickly and thoroughly they resolved the problem. Special thanks to Manager Brandon, Assistant Manager Adriana, and Bobby for their outstanding customer service. Their professionalism and kindness made the experience stress-free, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Highly recommend Stanton Optical!
