I had Dr Lauren Williams for my ophthalmologist. She did cataract surgery on both my eyes and she was amazing. She explained everything, listen to my concerns, and was very patient.
My wait times weren't too terribly bad maybe a half an hour at the most.
When I first had my initial appointment evaluation for my cataract surgery be prepared to spend a couple hours there as they are very thorough in getting measurements and taking pictures however it was well worth the wait!
I would recommend her to anyone. My eyes are great the world looks much more beautiful with increased colors and my sight is. it's so much better than it has been in years. I didn't realize what I was missing, I am so blessed to have had Dr Williams as my ophthalmologist.
The staff was very efficient, kind, and considerate, kind, and explained all details to me.
Especially Kim who was my surgery scheduler and did all the arranging in perfect detail
Again what a blessing to have this procedure done by such professional and kind staff

I am a new patient. I originally had an appointment on Monday 5/19/25. During the night of 5/18/25 (Sunday) I came down with a stomach virus or food poisoning (not sure which). I was up all night in the bathroom. I called and left a voicemail early on 5/19/25 explaining why I could not come in. I received a call from the practice that I would be billed $50 for a missed appointment. After I explained my reason for missing, the person I spoke to said they did receive the voicemail and the fine would be removed. I rescheduled the appointment for 7/3/25. In the meantime I received a "missed appointment" bill on 7/2/25. After I completed my appointment I was told that no one in administration remembered our conversation from 5/19/25. I showed them on my iPhone the call I made on 5/19/25 at 7:45 am in which I left a voicemail but they said that their policy is that if a patient does not notify them at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment the patient is required to pay a $50 fine. I fully understand imposing a fine on people who continually miss appointments but this is absurd. I guess next time I will schedule any illness I have to be at least 24 hours prior to an appointment at Palmetto Ophthalmology.

Dr. Jennifer Kathryn Hartel and her team are amazing! I felt seen, heard and cared for in the office and at the surgical center during 2 cataract surgeries. Dr. Hartel did an excellent job and I am seeing better than I have in decades. The surgical support team was kind and made me feel at ease with the surgery. I felt cared for . I would wholeheartedly recommend Lexington Ophthalmology Associates!

Dr. Shawn Iverson is by far the WORST doctor I've ever met in my life. My mother had an operation done by him and since then, she's been in more pain than she was before. Her vision is also worse now. She's done everything he's asked her to do and still no improvement. In fact, him and his staff showed little to no empathy when she expressed her concerns. Even had the nerve to have an attitude at one point. It seems like all they really care about is money. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

I am completely disappointed in the policy for this office about cancellation and then to incur a very hefty $50 fee
I can appreciate the need to be paid for services. I canceled the appointment for my 88 year-old mother the day before the appointment and was told over and over the cancellation fee stands as policy.
I pleaded with the office because the fee is very high. It was an honest mistake and it was 23 hours when the cancellation was made.
This is just another example of the horrors happening in this world with the destruction of our democracy, and the inability to help your neighbors

Dr. Williams and her staff are knowledgeable and very efficient in the process of checking your eye health. The support staff in the front are the best I have ever dealt with, which for me is very important. There is very little waiting time. I wholly recommend Palmetto ophthalmology for the entire family.

Typically, I am a patient of Dr. Kanitkar (whom I love). However, when I suddenly began having a problem with double vision in my left eye, I was terrified that my cancer had metastasized to my eyes. When I called the office to try and get an appointment, Dr. Kanitkar was unavailable. However, Dr. Iverson agreed to work me into his schedule the very next day. I cannot begin to thank him enough for his caring and professionalism. He listened to my history and concerns and immediately got me in for the necessary CT scans to rule out another tumor. He was extremely thorough in diagnosing my problem, and I cannot recommend him high enough.
Their offices are always busy, but I feel this is primarily due to the demand for excellent care, which I know I will receive from all of the Doctors at this practice.
